So, today in Bio lab, my lab group and I were all trying to figure out when we should meet to complete our Powerpoint presentation. Thursday was agreed upon.

So we argued about times for a while, because everyone (including me) has something to do on Thursdays. Eventually, we decided to meet at 9 p.m.

Me (thinking): Aw, damn, I'm going to have to miss new CSI *again*...

However, I decide to say nothing, as Bio class takes precedence over TV. But suddenly -
Lab Partner (in panic-stricken tone): Guys, we can't do it then! That's when Gray's Anatomy's on!

Cue my barely supressed scream of rage.

I don't dislike Gray's. I don't watch it, but that's a matter of taste. I have no objection to the show.

What pisses me off about this is, if I had said "Guys, I can't meet then. There's new CSI tonight," everyone would have told me that Bio work was more important, and that I could just skip it tonight or tape it or something.

But no. We just can't skip new Gray's. Gray's is different. Gray's is a damn RELIGION.

You know, people obsessed over TV shows like you do LONG before anyone had ever heard of Gray's Anatomy. You know what you called them? Nerds.

I agree. Gray's (or is it Grey's? I can never remember which) is a freaking religion of the more fanatical sort. But you know what? I have discovered that in group projects, there will always be at least one person who does not show up in spite of having acquiesced to the agreed-upon time, and probably at least two others will show up late. In summary, trying to arrange a group meeting in college is an extremely frustrating experience, and usually at least half the members don't show up on time/at all.

True, true. We've apparently changed the time once already, although I have not been directly informed of this. Which is precisely why I try not to work in groups if I can avoid it. :(

I never understood the appeal of Grey's. I mean I never actually watched it, but I can't imagine it could be that amazing. I guess I am really not that connected to any television. Most of the shows, I watch, I find them on demand so I can watch them anytime, I damn well please :)

I can understand (and relate to) being attached to and excited about a TV show, since I've recently become rather obsessed with a certain few shows. And I hear that Gray's is actually supposed to be pretty good, so I'm in no position to judge. The only thing that bothers me is how Gray's Anatomy takes precedence over *everything* here - you have to schedule your day around it even if you don't watch it.
