I used to have signed pictures of both Pertwee and Troughton on my wall, they both wrote back. Troughton, when I mentioned that I wanted to be a writer, even said that perhaps I would write Doctor Who one day.

NO FUCKING WAY. Dude. That just made me tear up a little. But, then again, Troughton-love always makes me misty eyed. Holy crap, I would kill to have had a chance to meet Troughton or to have him write to me. Or Pertwee. That is so f-ing amazing. What a lucky man.

Aside from the covers, I think it's my favorite illustration in that entire article. This is going to be so exciting, I don't even know how to talk about it.

THE ART OMG. THE ART IS THE REASON I'M CAPSLOCK SQUEEING INSTEAD OF MERELY SQUEEING.

I mean, I normally don't bother with comics based on live-action movies or shows, because so many artists get hung up on drawing a meticulous likeness of the actor rather than a character that feels alive in and of themselves. Pia Guerra doesn't have that problem at all - her Doctors look like real, living, breathing characters, not portraits.

I do believe it's time to start sweet-talking my local Comic Book Guy. Er. Assuming I have one, of course.
