YES IT IS OMG.

She tried to get me to drive and I refused because I was paranoid about not having my permit and the trouble that could cause if something happened, but quite honestly I can't have fared any worse than her.

eeeeek. Oh my god. I admire you for not making her pull over right then and there. :(

I would have just been treated to her rant aka handy excuse to make a fallacious claim of infallibility about how she's been driving for thirty-odd years and knows what she's doing. I really ought to start refusing to get into cars with certain people, really.
