Dear everyone:

Please stop waving new fandoms temptingly before my eyes. I was already juggling three to begin with - Doctor WhoNumb3rs, and NCIS - and that was already more than I could handle.

But now? Now? Now that you all are teasing me with The X-Files AND Sapphire and Steel AND Blake's 7 AND Battlestar Galactica AND The West Wing? All at once?

Do you have any idea what that means? Because I can't resist you all, no I can't, not with the tantalizing glimpses you offer me of these shiny and impresssive programs. So I'm going to end up losing all sense of order and diving in and having to learn and remember and fangirl eight fictional universes (fifteen if you count all my other fandoms) at once and know the characters and know how the characters relate and there'll be all these 'verses cluttering up my mind and

403 BRAIN ERROR PLEASE REBOOT.

I have way too many fandoms to keep track of, now, and I hate putting any on the backburner. Am currently juggling Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, and Sapphire and Steel. But ooh, it's tempting to go back to some of the old ones.

(The West Wing, for instance. Oh, the power of persuasion a few witty quotes can have.)

All that said, I am utterly and completely unrepentant. :D

That's just the thing, isn't it - strictly speaking, I *could* manage all those fandoms at once, but then some would get shuttled off and ignored while the others are publicly squeed over. And if a fandom's still new, I feel bad for neglecting it.

All that said, I am utterly and completely unrepentant. :D

I vote you give X-Files priority, because they have this awesome new movie coming out in summer, and if you don't see it in theaters you will kick yourself later. I know this because that's how I felt about the first movie.

In other news, I humbly apologize for being such a drug pusher and sympathize with your brain overload. Does it help to know that when everything comes back from Strike Era, I'll somehow be juggling 19 shows? Granted, two of them are reality shows and only one is a new fandom, but still. My brain is breaking just thinking about it.

This is an excellent point. I'd almost forgotten about the movie. Is there any indication of whereabouts in or after the series the movie takes place, so I know what I've got left to cover?

Wow, 19 shows? I'm sort of glad that some of these new fandoms are off the air all of a sudden I don't know how you keep them all straight. Your fannish powers are mighty. XD

The movie takes place after the series, so I'm assuming it'll be in current time (which would be about 5 or 6 years after the show went off the air). I suppose there will probably be some reference to the finale, but unlike the first movie - which was between seasons 5 & 6, and very much part of the story arc - it's also supposed to be a standalone monster story. As long as you have a general sense of the characters, you should be okay wherever you are in the series.

They are mighty, and to be feared indeed. Or not, since I mostly keep them straight by having a seive for a brain - I'm real clear on what happened within the past season or 2, but unless I'm heavily grounded in the fandom aspect, I tend to forget various important plot points from before then.

I feel slightly guilty, as a lot of these are at least partially my fault. BUT THEY'RE SO MUCH FUN!!! I also forget that not everyone has my seemingly rare ability to be completely involved in lots of fandoms simultaneously without losing track of them; must be an added benefit of being a 'fandom sponge!'

See, I can keep track of a lot of fandoms if I really, really try. But then there's no room in my brain for anything else, like, say, writing fic about any of them. Or, for that matter, doing my schoolwork. Which is of only minor importance, of course.

Oh man, I sympathize with that, dammit, I so do sympathize. *shakes head*

I know I've rather had a pretty hideous amount of fandoms to for some time now, but really just recently I, too, have been getting my thoughts and brains into a real tangled mess over them, when it suddenly seems that practically ALL of them are vying for my attention, and most of all, my TIME, completely simultaneously.
All the new glimpses, yes (I'm very curious about Sapphire and Steel and B7 too..) of possible fandoms to come, and then there's those fandoms from just a while ago, and the old fandoms, and the small fandoms, and the nostalgia fandoms, and the damn Current fandoms.. *sigh* How can one ever keep track of that..

I sometimes really miss the days when I could completely focus on one at the time. Now I just have to really pay attention to constantly switching from one fan universe to the other. It takes so much extra energy.

*giggles at icon*

That is exactly the feeling I've got in mind, complete with small fandoms and nostalgia fandoms and the like. For some reason I feel like I've got to love on all of them at once, and I don't have nearly the time or energy for that.

*sigh* I suppose they'll all just have to line up single file and wait their turn.

Scratch what I posted about how everyone should watch Damages and The Practice, then, LOL!

But if you ever lose love for any of your other shows and need replacements, put them at the tippity top of your list! :P

aaaaaaah. *covers head*

But...well, Damages is a miniseries, isn't it? That means it's only of limited duration? I could probably manage that...

...dammit, I just did it again.

I don't know what it is exactly, except for AWESOME. And come on, you know you wanna see Glenn Close at primo evil levels... She's like Cruella De Ville on hyperdrive. Muchos intrigue!

And "The Practice" is long gone, so you'd have no obligation to new episodes, just reruns, which you can watch ENTIRELY at your own volition. ;)

Yes. Yes, actually, I really do. *is sold*

And since both of those can be watched at my leisure, rather than on a schedule, I'm thinking these might creep into my Lazy Saturday TV schedule...
