*waves back* I wrote an introductory post ages ago, but I can't find it. Ah well, it needed to be updated, so I'll write a new one tomorrow.

In my case, I've discovered Who in 2000 when I began watching it on our BBC cable channel. It was already halfway and it took a while before I managed to get into it. The first thing I ever saw was a bit of Castrovalva, and my first complete serial was Arc of Infinity, so Five was my first Doctor, and with Colin Baker appearing in AoI it means I got a bonus Doctor on my first story (I remember thinking Colin looked sexy in his uniform; if only I knew what was to come :P).

I do think the Technicolor Dreamcoat was just a bit of a step down from the Arc of Infinity uniform. Just a tiny bit. :D

Anyway, good to meet you!

I still wish Colin could have chosen Six's clothes. I read somewhere that he wanted his Doctor to wear black velvet in order to show that he was the complete opposite of Five, but John Nathan-Turner vetoed this and forced him to wear the Technicolor Dreamcoat instead.

And yeah, Gallifreyan fashion is not very appealing, but Colin seemed less like a fish out of water in his uniform than the others. Of course, he wasn't on the High Council and therefore didn't have to wear those hats. :P

I think the black velvet outfit would have worked really well, considering the overall feel of Six's seasons. But mostly, I just find it funny (in a sad sort of way) that half the time, Colin seemed to be the only one paying any attention to the show - I do believe that he had to correct the writers' continuity errors during the early episodes of Trial of a Time Lord (I'll have to check that again).

The man did not get the series he deserved, I think that's safe to say.

Yeah, I've heard about that too. The way they treated him during his time as the Doctor was really unfair, as he was probably one of the most enthusiastic actors to play the role. *sighs* The Sixth Doctor era makes me sad, because it's filled with so much wasted potential.
