I have to go to dinner in a *very* short time, and I as always have a crapload of work what needs doing, so I have only a few captioned Miami pics for you today. And they're more "macro" style than actual captions, although I tried to refrain from using actual lolcat-speech except for the lack of capitalisation.
Caps from the Random Scribblings Gallery; captioned with roflbot.
Every single episode I wait for someone to say this. And no one ever does. It makes me sad.
...well, he isn't. By the way, I thought it was obvious, but in case it isn't: the text on the left is Stetler's; the text on the right is Horatio's.
I'm sorry. I mean, I try to like Kyle, I really do, I want to like Kyle, but damn does he do some pouting. And the fact that he somehow looks younger every time he shows up doesn't help.
I have my doubts as to whether Eric and Calleigh would actually have this conversation, but I'd have liked it. Also, whoever's in charge in costuming? Can we please have Eric in red again? He looks very good in red, you may recall. No, salmon does not count as red.
That's all for now.
Sorry for the TL;DR--it got away from me
My personal feelings on the show aside (or rather, certain elements), your last set of macros is so true. A lot of the stuff in fashion shows looks like the designer changed their mind halfway through and thought, "I want another skirt, but I don't have the time to start over from scratch--I know! I'll use this shirt and turn it into a skirt! Genius!"
Or maybe that's just my bias from being a fan of 'Project Runway'. I don't know.
(And speaking of clothes...I seem to recall, from the occasional episode I've been, er, persuaded into watching by
because, if I have to watch an episode, I need some eye candy as compensation. Guys in salmon=no eye candy.)Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
*giggle* Those are pretty much my feelings about half the stuff I see on runways - either converted skirts or towels with creative tape application. Now, I've had it explained to me several times that it's all just an extreme version of whatever's currently in fashion, but just on occassion I'd like to see a model in something I might actually wear. Or at least, something I wouldn't have to sell my corneas to afford.
And yes, Eric wears pastel floral prints distressingly often, and I concur with your assessment that they do nothing for him. He looks quite good in whites, dark greys, or saturated reds, and there was a time early in the series where he wore quite a lot of all three; I'm not really sure where they went, but I want them back.
Alas, one thing the entire CSI franchise does particularly well (all of them, though Miami's been the worst offender recently) is dress very attractive men in hideously ugly clothes. Poor Ryan spent almost the entirety of Season 3 in a sweatervest. A sweatervest, sweet mercy.
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Exactly. I feel the same way. GMTA, apparently. ;-)
It's not just the CSI franchise that does such unspeakable fashion crimes to its
eye candyvery attractive male stars--Doctor Who does too, apparently, in the form of the blue suit ("of doom"). I personally have nothing against it, and even liked it in 'S&J', but I'm seemingly alone in that regard...A sweatervest? Oh, dear. There are few men who can pull that off--David Tennant as Peter Carlisle in Blackpool being one of them--but ouch. That doesn't suit Ryan at all. Poor man.
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Really? I rather liked the blue suit. I think it looked nice on him. I may even like it slightly better than the brown pinstripes. (Yes. Blasphemy. I know.)
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Yeah. I was rather surprised to discover the depths of hatred that some of our fellow DT fans have for the 'BSoD'. I can't quite fathom why, since
Davidit looks quite nice when it's paired with a light colored shirt and complimentary tie, as in 'S&J'. But for some reason, it keeps getting paired with dark-colored shirts, which just doesn't work. Hopefully the costume department will figure that out for S4...I still like the brown a bit more, though, not least because it always looks good (not least because of the man wearing it!), regardless of lighting or shirt choices. (I say "lighting" because I've heard people grumble that it doesn't photograph very well.)
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Really, the only reason that I rank the brown suit below the blue suit is because I'm madly in love with the "Smith & Jones" look. (And because for some reason there's something off to me about the pants on the brown suit; I don't know what it is.) I don't think I've ever seen the brown suit photograph poorly, though...
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
I don't think I've ever seen the brown suit photograph poorly, though...
Oops. Should have been a bit clearer--I've heard people complain about the blue suit not photographing well, not the brown. (Something off about the brown suit's pants? Hm. They're cut the same way, or so I've been told, but I think the brown pants are tighter than the blue.)
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
I think the brown pants are tighter than the blue.
I think that's it - the brown pants are a little too slim and a little too tapered at the calf and ankle for my taste. That is, of course, just my taste, and I guess skinny pants make him look more sprightly, but I'd prefer it if they had a little bit more room to them.
(But then, I think that about pants in general, no matter who's wearing them...)
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Exactly. That's the best look for him, in my opinion.
I agree with you on the brown pants too--a bit looser, and they'd be perfect. (Yet another case of GMTA, it seems!) Of course, when I said "tighter", I meant the entire pants...if you know where I'm going with that. *clears throat, attempt to look innocent*
And I have to say, David Tennant does "sprightly" quite well without help from his wardrobe...
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
...I do believe I do. *ahem* Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Gratuitous buttshots for the win!Tennant manages to look sprightly even in a big clunky Time Lord costume; I'd say he's pretty much got it pat. XD
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Gratuitous buttshots indeed. The man constantly teases us, particularly in the S3 diaries! It's not fair. And, if you take him at his word (he says he's "the least sexy man on the planet"), he's not even doing it on purpose! He's either truly clueless, just being modest, or having us on.
I vote for being modest, myself.
Oh, and before I forget--I've got the user info taken care of, and am working on the header as we...well, speak. It should be up soonish.
Re: Bah! There's no such thing as tl;dr!
Aaaw. Modesty's so charming, though.
Could be that the director/cameraperson's doing it on purpose, of course...Curse the lack of an edit button!
Well, if you're willing to shell out for a paid account, comment editing is all yours...
I've never been able to find a decent L&O image archive, sadly. There's NBC.com, of course, but other than that...not so much. The closest I was ever able to get to such a thing was this place, though I would warn you that it's not very reliable and caused my old computer to crash several times. Just a word of caution.
But...but...but paid accounts cost monies!
*cough*
Granted, there's nothing actually on it yet, but I'm working on it, I really am.
(Also, many thanks for the link to the image archive - I had no idea that was still up and running!)
I know...*sigh* They're meanies for not letting the little people in on the good stuff.
(You're welcome. I found that site a long time ago, back when I was as obsessed with L&O: TOS as I am now with DW. When I dug up the link, I also expected it to be gone. Luckily for us, it isn't!
Also, I wasn't sure from the tone of your previous comment, but did you want help with the comm? I'm available if you need a second mod. I do have another comm I'm supposed to be helping with--"supposed to" being the operative words!--but for some reason, the project's been stalled. Even if it picks up again, it shouldn't be a problem. Just let me know.)
Yes they are. Power to the people!
And yes, if you wanted to, I'd love your help. This is my first time modding a community of any sort, so I don't quite know what I'm doing. Let me just tinker around with the comm info and add you as mod...
Thank you! :)

Re: Ta-Da!
(Will the graphics work with a basic account?)
Re: Ta-Da!
As for a header, I believe it's possible, if you have the right layout. Let me go look that up...
Re: Ta-Da!
oh, damn, my permanently-in-the-gutter fangirl half is so taking that in directions that the person who named it never dreamed of.... I'm rather partial to 'Quite Lickable', myself, although '3 Column' would work too. What do you think?(Info from here.)
Re: Ta-Da!
Hmm...can't say I've much of a preference, so it's up to you.
Re: Ta-Da!
So that's all for now. What do you think?

and some ryan + horatio ones too.

XD Yes! I eagerly await the "your mom" macro.

a) That is EXACTLY what was going through my head during Stetler's scene. Love it.
b) "Oh, said the guy in the orange floral number." -- Calleigh's expression in that cap is priceless!
c) I can just hear Eric muttering "None of this lace-up shiny crap." It feels me with euphoric glee.
Did I mention the part where this was the highlight of my day?

And what the HELL was Stetler wearing?
(no subject)
And that was not Stetler's worst outfit ever. Not by a long shot. Actually, considering some of his other color combinations, Monday's outfit was downright tasteful.
