Fast thoughts on CSI: New York...

These were typed as I watched; as such they do not form the most coherent or thorough review in the world. Full review coming after I've gotten some sleep.

-----
-The first five minutes of the season and we’ve already got gratuitous sexing. Eyeroll.

-“Welcome back to the land of the free and the home of the depraved.” Oh, Flack. I missed ya.

-Wha – what is this new, remixed credits music? What is with this? No messing with The Who!

The new credits photos are rather nice, though. Especially Eddie’s.

-I still don’t buy Danny rappelling down the Statue’s face, but at least that scene was brief.

-Nosebleed! The drops could be from a nosebleed! Vegas! “Leaping Lizards”, everybody! Do you remember it?

-Dude, that is one awesome webcam. I want one that good.

-Nnnngh. I don’t need this Adam bedroom scene. Although “Must! Fight! Crime!” makes me giggle, it’s not enough to make me swallow the scene.

-Ooooh. Mystery phone calls. What are we to make of this?

-Stella’s orange top is so pretty. I would very much like one.

-“Yeah, I always like to do a little sightseeing after I commit murder.” It’s been stated that I love Flack, right? Because I do. And he’s being ever so professional.

-Despite the gratuitous sex in the opener, I’m actually feeling pretty good about this case. Very bizarre, very…mysterious. I like this kind of case every so often. But I’ll have to see where it goes.

-For some reason, the music feels really intrusive this episode. It feels like there’s…more of it, or it’s louder, or something. And what is that gizmo Sid’s playing with? Oooh. 3D modeling. I get it now. Oh, and I STILL adore Sid’s glasses.

-Please make Adam stop staring at New Lab Rat. And New Lab Rat – Kendall – is reminding me a whole lot of early S2 Lindsay. But not in a good way.

-Speaking of Lindsay, she’s got a very cute haircut this year. And I love how awkward Danny looks upon learning about the spray-on condom.

-Er. What’s with the bullet-time blood spray? That’s just a touch odd.

-And, while kissing-up-to-Stella Adam is quite cute, the lab-rat flirting really needs to end.

-Already disliking the musician Guest-Star-Of-The-Week. Go away now please kthanx.

-Even Sid looks weirded out by the spray-on condom. I enjoy this.

-We actually have a decent amount of Flack in this episode. Pleasant surprise.

-And this Stella Flashback will soon have special significance. And Landlord Morton will turn out to be involved. Duly noted.

-But Flack, how do you know it’s Brock?

-I…whu…while he was still alive? Eeeeew!

-That Viewfinder officially killed my childhood.

-And that seems like yet another unlikely leap of logic. The music connection thing, that is.

-Not a very thorough search there, Danny.

-He’s in the timpani! He’s in the timpani! There, see? I told you so.

-It’s Stella’s cold murder case! They’re trying to solve Stella’s cold mur – ah! I told you so again!

-You know, I don’t think the latter half of S3 was quite this icky. I don’t remember it being as such, anyway.

-It’s the landlord. The landlord did it. He’s guilty. My money’s on it.

-No, no, not this thing again. I hated this CSI: Q thing last season; it had this nasty habit of killing dramatic tension and/or spoiling the mystery. But then again, I’d give just about anything for a set tour of CSI: NY, so off to text I go.

-Commercial note: Elizabeth: The Golden Age is also on my list of movies to see. Clive Owen in period costume as Sir Walter Raliegh? I believe the word I’m searching for is OH GOD YES PLEASE NOW.

-AGH. My parents know – KNOW – that there’s new CSI: NY on and they call me in the middle of it anyway. So I missed perhaps the most plot-heavy ten minutes, but I did come in in time to see Action!Flack, Action!Danny, and the fact that I was totally right and Landlord did the killings. I win.

-Cliché though it was, I kind of liked Landlord’s speech to Stella, and Stella’s response to him. He seemed appropriately rageful. I’m not sure I buy that he’d go so far as to pour blood on the Statue of Liberty for attention, though. That seems terribly farfetched. And that’s not even going into his other four murders – beating a man to death, embalming someone alive…I find it hard to believe that he went from being a bystander to being capable of such depravity. But perhaps it was there the whole time.

-Oh noes! The mysterious phone calls! We have ourselves the makings of a plot arc! Natalie Davis and her creepy singing dolls did it.

-Regarding next week: Hawkes is in danger! Further Oh Noes! Although I can’t say I’m excited about a bomb-related plot only one episode away from “Snow Day”’s explosion. That’s more bombs than I think we should feasibly have in that short a period of time.

I didn't know it was possible for Sid to be weirded out by things. Actually, I was waiting for him to make some uncomfortable and off-color comment about how it compared to regular ones.

That Viewfinder officially killed my childhood.
Oh God, mine too. Those were not happy slides of Disney movies! TRAUMA!

Same thoughts here, really. I didn't think it was possible to catch him off-guard with something like this, but there you go. Especially since compared to some of the things he *has* made comments about, the spray was really rather mild.

Would we stop being friends if I mentioned that I'm starting to like Sid when he's not going on and on about the fine points of necrophilia? Because I think I might be. *shame*

Yes. I would ex-communicate you immediately. Lol, no, I can see it - I kinda liked him in Snow Day, after all. He's never going to be a favorite character of mine, but he's currently better than Adam, so...I might even stop skipping autopsy scenes soon.

Hurray! I am not excommunicated, and still a member of the flock. Rejoice.
