Heehee. See, there are a couple of authors (including Bushnell herself, depending on who you ask - I don't know if I believe it) who can write characters like that in a somewhat realistic and believable fashion. Trouble is that there are just so darn many that can't.

Yes, Candace Bushnell is behind Sex and the City, Lipstick Jungle, et al. From the little I've read of her, she's a bit better than the slush pile of chick lit out there, but it's stil not to my taste.
