Yes. Yes, it counts. And he was particularly vile and hateable in the finale, so it's going to take me a *long* time to adjust to him as one of the good guys.

Jack is an EADA now, or Executive Assistant District Attorney. So far as I can tell (and my own knowledge of the American criminal justice system is a bit rusty, so don't quote me on this), the EADA is one step down from the DA. They oversee all the other district lawyers and act as the DA in the DA's absense.

Ah, okay. I was under the impression that all the public defenders were called DA's and that ADA was reserved for the secondary attorneys like Jack's revolving door of brainy beauties Connie and such. Apparently I do not pay enough attention to the courtroom scenes in SVU.

*snicker* True, that.

SVU's courtroom scenes wouldn't really tell you anything about how it all works, since the EADAs (and the DAs, for that matter) almost never show up there. Jack was there a couple of times in Season 1, I think, and Tracy's appeared once more recently, but other than that it's the Alex and/or Casey Show.
