The funny thing is, FiM Applejack is the only character who isn't a composite of two or more earlier ponies, but her personality is almost the opposite of original Applejack - down-to-earth, hardworking, and stubborn instead of clumsy. There isn't really an equivalent to G1 Applejack, really. Pinkie Pie might be it, but all the girls get into trouble on their own.

Oh, even if you've seen the series all the way through the movie doesn't make any damn sense. Nobody turns into a car in the series.
Though, granted, the series doesn't make any more sense, it just doesn't make any more sense in a different way. The symbolism's still ambiguous but it's a touch easier to untangle. I'd still recommend watching the series if you can. In the daytime, of course.
I did not know enough about the internet to seek out fic when I was four! I didn't even write it, I made my parents act it out. Every morning I'd assign them roles and they'd act out some new adventure for Bernard and Bianca and Jake. It a testament to their parenting skills that they didn't quash this habit out of sheer annoyance.

I've never read the books! I didn't even realize there were books until just recently. I just latched onto when I was four and made my parents take roles as each of the characters and act out their continued adventures. It was amazing that they didn't smother me for it.

Ah, yes, I can understand that. Unfortunately, season 4 soured me a bit too much. Though that's exactly the way I am with Jade/Graveheart. I would ship Jade with Tekla like woah if not for the "B-but then GH will be all sad and lonely! :(" guilt trip I get every time the thought crosses my mind...
The books are awesome! I adore novel!Bianca to pieces and Bernard is pretty much exactly the same except very British. Unfortunately, they're all out of print and piss hard to find. It took the combined powers of both me and my dad scouring bookstores/ebay for almost a year before I finally got all nine.
