So I'm sure I'm the last person to know about this because I'm slow like that, but some of the character designs for Transformers: Prime have been released, along with test footage.
And honestly I am probably being way too hopeful right now, but can I tell you how excited I am not only that Arcee is prominently featured in this picture (thus leading me to think that she'll actually do something in the show and/or be important), but she's blue. Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against pink or pink designs, but the thing about making the girl robots pink is that it makes so much of their design about their gender, and thus so much of their personality about their gender - like in the G1 series, where with few exceptions Arcee's role and personality was basically "the girl one". I'm hoping that by making her blue, the design team is thinking about her more as a character and what she would look like in context of the series, rather than "she looks this way because she's a girl".
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY. The list of voice actors has also been released, but without much word (save for previous confirmations, i.e. Peter Cullen playing Optimus) on who would actually play whom. But the one lady on that list, and thus logically the one playing Arcee (since the human girl's voice actor has already been announced)? Gina. Freaking. Torres. DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW COOL THIS IS. GINA TORRES. ZOE WASHBURN. AS ARCEE.
eeeeeeeee I hope she is awesome. :D
A couple of other things:
1. Lockdown is going to be written into the IDW series! Not surprising, really, since of all the Animated characters he seems like the fan-favorite choice for a crossover, but what I really want to know is, in the more adult-oriented IDW series, how much creepier and more disturbingly-overtoned the writers are going to make Lockdown, given how uncomfortable he already was. And given that he's on the cover with another slim Japan-influenced character, I also anticipate slash fic aplenty.
2. I have finally plucked up the nerve to ask the folks at the local Toys'R'Us whether they had an Arcee in stock; apparently they're getting a shipment in soon and are setting aside one for me! The wiki tells me that Arcee is prone to getting bought up by collectors and scalpers really fast, so despite feeling a bit guilty over spending money on plastic robots I'm still glad I asked. Next guilty purchase: AllSpark Almanac Volume 2!
And this window has been open for hours, so I should stop. I did get two whole pages written today, though! It was fantastic. :D

Definitely looking forward to IDW!Lockdown and the Drift miniseries. I don't have the burning hatred toward Drift that many fans seem to have (a little bitterness, sure, since they're giving him this whole Decepticon-redemption-arc and not Thundercracker, but IDW's is still my favorite portrayal of TC so I'm not complaining). Anyway, even if Drift turns out as lame as the fanboys say, having Lockdown around should hopefully make up for it.

I personally am pulling for Elita-One, because I always want her, but I so hope that Slipstream is there too - she was in War for Cybertron, but so was Arcee and she had a completely different design. But that's at least a better chance, and it'll be so cool if Slipstream becomes a regular amongst the cross-franchise Seekers the way TC and Skywarp have.
I haven't actually read much of IDW yet - just the spotlights - so I actually haven't read anything with Drift yet, but I think it's sort of serendipitous that he's most closely associated with a ninja in Animated so he gets featured with a samurai in IDW. I wonder Drift has a sensei that can conveniently get murdered in the backstory...
