Why doesn't every sport have an octopus?
So apparently, in an aquarium in Germany somewhere there's an octopus named Paul who has correctly predicted the outcome of every match Germany's been in so far.
Today, it predicted that Spain would win the Spain/Germany match, much to Germans' disappointment.
As a result, one fan in the German stands is holding up a sign that says "Even octopus can be wrong."
This sport is amazing.

That, or it's getting tired of having cameras pointed at it.

This is in no way due to my bias as a Spain fan, of course.no subject

Hockey has squids! http://sportales.com/hockey/squid-a-hockey-tradition/ Does that count? ;)

Hee! I kind of feel bad just because I like squids a lot and the thought of tossing their carcasses onto the ice kind of makes me sad. But still, squids! In hockey!

I JUST HAVE NO WORDS ABOUT HOW AWESOME THIS IS.
(& it makes me think of Lovecraft stories. EVEN BETTER! Also, this)

Between that and the BPAL merch, it makes me want a Cephalopod Cup. Squid football for everyone! Squids representing every ocean!
