Stupid, stupid F!S meme. How am I supposed to go back to doing homework when you give me cracked-out threads like these?

"I'm into Parmesan/Romano, myself. GRATERCESTERS UNITE!"

"THAT'S DISGUSTING. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOUR SHIP AND THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU. YOU JUST LIKE THEM BECAUSE THEY BOTH MELT ON YOUR PASTA, AND YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES."

I want that on a T-shirt.

In other news I think I should just carry a sign around that reads "I am a bad person and should be ashamed."

So I am not mentally ready to read Transformers porn. I'm just not. I can't get my head around it. They're robots. I don't know how it would work, and I really don't know if I want to expend the mental effort to figure out how it would work. I. Just. Robots.

Except that the compilation list of TF prompts on [livejournal.com profile] springkink requests might be swaying me. Because while, per usual, there are a few that shock and disturb and frighten me, there is also lots and lots of crack. If I knew enough about G1 Kup to write him, I'd be all over "Did I ever tell you about the time I landed on the planet of the open-minded supermodels?" Because I giggled, if only at the image of Hot Rod desperately covering his ears and shouting to avoid hearing about Kup's exploits. I really did. And also the Animated!Starscream/clones narcissism one. "Did I ever tell you you're beautiful?"

And. And. And then I was giggling at the crack and I realized there were requests up there that weren't crack and I...wanted to write them anyway. And I felt repulsed and ashamed and horrified.

I mean, there was an Animated!Optimus/Blackarachnia collaring/femdom prompt, okay, I'm not even going to pretend that doesn't appeal to me because I would be telling enormous lies. And an Animated!OP/Elita/Sentinel prompt and you know how I feel about threesomes. And a G1!OP/Elita non-sticky one for repairing and tuneups, and on the few occasions I ponder robot sex that's the closest thing my mind can grasp to it so there's a chance I might actually write it oh god why.

And then there was a prompt for Lugnut/Strike using pet names ("who would have thought two huge warmechs could be so corny?") and I started giggling again and felt mildly less unclean.

Where does it end, fandom? Will you leave me no taboos at all?

...at the very least, this has been an enlightening LJ Break.

Back to work again.

*shakes head in wonderment* Some days, I am so glad I'm not remotely interested in kinkfic. Saves me a lot of brain-breakage.

(OTOH, I don't really see why one wouldn't write a sexy!robot-tuneup fic if one could... but then, my primary 'ship is Doctor/TARDIS with some Doctor/Bessie flirting on the side, so my attitudes toward machinery!love are obviously a bit unusual. *g*)

I try not to be interested! I really, really do. No good ever comes of it. And then I am lured back by its evil charms.

(And yet for some reason I really do want to write tuneup fic. I've always kind of wanted to write humanoid/machine fic - both because I'm fascinated by the relationship one can have with a sentient machine and because I want to prove that I can - and something like a tuneup or other mechanical manipulations seems like the way to go about it. And yet that way lies lower fanfic inhibitions and madness.)

The only way to read Transformers porn is just to let go of the how and why. I mean, they're robots. it's not supposed to make sense, and if it does make sense, you should worry.

If you think about it- giant robots having sex or the equivalent thereof? That in itself is crack.

I know. It's not like the premise of the series is particularly scientifically rigorous, so there's no good reason for me to start reaching for the "but science says no!" justification now of all times. But it is a stumbling block, nonetheless.

YOU'RE JUST PREJUDICED AGAIN NON-SPREADABLE CHEESES AREN'T YOU. No matter how much variety there is in fandom people always pair up the two creamy spreadables. I'M TIRED OF IT, DO YOU HEAR ME, TIRED.

I had to tear myself away from that cheese thread. And I already feel an itching addict's impulse to click back on. Oh my god, so far up my alley in so many ways.

I'm very lucky the post filled up fast, or I might have wasted even more of my day. As it is it's frightening how long I spent on that thing.
