A meme, because ganking other people's memes is fun (stolen and somewhat modified from justnuts ):

I've got ten kinks/prompts on this list over here that you can't see, and a corresponding slot to be filled.

The first ten people to comment with a pairing and an unclaimed number will get a two character sketch of the sexy variety  500-word or so ficlet with the prompt that corresponds with their selected number. As soon as you pick a number, I'll let you know what you got.

Kinks will be pretty mild so there's a lower risk of people getting squicked by their own fics, but if what you get really doesn't sit right with you for whatever reason, just speak up and I'll be happy to pick something else. In fact really a lot of the prompts probably aren't kinks at all in the conventional sense of the word; I've find it interesting how a "kink" outside of fandom is generally something that most people in a random population sample don't enjoy, something unusual, whereas within fandom it seems to apply to everything outside of heterosexual missionary position with the lights off and the covers all the way up. But that's probably another discussion for another day, preferably when it's not 1:30 a.m. and I don't have to work in the morning.

ANYWAY TEN SLOTS, GO GO GO. I'd prefer to stick with Doctor Who, Transformers, or Umineko this go 'round, just to make things easier for me (because I'm hoping this will break my writing sluggishness without requiring me to spend money on more alcohol), but if you really want to see something else, put it in there anyway; I'll let you know if I don't think I'll be able to do it.

Also, on other frivolous topics that are not my essay, someone please explain to me why I volunteered to write G1 fic for springkink , because it was a stupid, stupid, stupid thing to do. Especially since I'm writing from the perspective of G1!Prime and do you have any idea how difficult that is. Writing a Good Guy character not particularly known for lengthy introspection or psychological issues (which I'm not used to) for a canon I'm still familiarizing myself with in which the participants are not even intimate in familiar ways so I have to invent entirely new ways of writing basic physical contact? WHAT WAS I THINKING. Waugh. *smacks fic around*

I am still very unsteady writing in this universe, but managing to work on this fic at all rather than staring blankly at the paper was something of an improvement, so I thought I'd put it up here as a teaser or something.

An additional point: I watched M play the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tonight, and...well, without spoiling anything, I'll just say that those were some of the more harrowing cutsenes I've ever seen in a video game. I think that was the only time I've literally been on the edge of my seat and I wasn't even playing.

It's good to know it's earned that good reputation, at least.

Also, Lance Henriksen does a voice in it. The guy's everywhere.


I grow tired, so my ramblings about epic multiversal crossover fic will just have to wait for the morning. Or, um, possibly the evening, after I spend the morning and afternoon legitimately working. Yes.
