Doctor Who Series 5 trailer omg omg.

It is oh so nice to be excited for this series again. I know that there are probably a thousand things that could go wrong with Moff Time and bother me about the new series but right now I am too enthusiastic to care.

From the few minutes I've seen of Eleven I'm already enamored of him. I'm not sure what I'm more fond of: the vampires, the scary clown masks, River's sunglasses, Eleven's sunglasses and his sassily peeking over them, Amy's awesome "O__O" face, the first surprise!snogging in years that I'm not greeting with an eyeroll and a sigh, Eleven punching someone inna face, or Eleven looking absolutely shocked that he managed to punch someone inna face.

Also, Weeping Angels! I kind of felt like they had nowhere to go as monsters after "Blink", like they'd kind of used up the gimmick, but I find myself looking forward to seeing what Moffat does with them if he brings them out again.

My squee, it is powerful. Is Eleven here yet? How about now? :D

I have also managed to write a tiny bit again, which is nice. Little of any consequence, and nothing that I'm supposed to be writing, but it is nice to be able to freewrite again.

Also my TFA human/holo bunny has morphed into a TFA human/holo genderfuck bunny spiced with stealth meta. Because apparently the first thing I do when I enter a new fandom is take it upon myself to write things that nobody whatsoever will read. Pfft.

I CAN'T WAIT I CAN'T WAIT (there were clown masks?--I missed them, time to watch again).

I saw something I thought was a clown mask, anyway. It was a big rubbery face with a grimace on it, so I thought it was a clown mask.

I'd check where it was, but my internet connection is tenuous here, so getting the video to play again isn't going so well.

Either way I CAN'T WAIT I CAN'T WAIT (but my God, I hope the sound mixing has been fixed so the music isn't as loud as in that trailer, or indeed as in most of the RTD era).

From what I remember they still had the problem of the music blocking out the dialogue at points, but there also wasn't much dialogue there so hopefully that won't be as much of a problem.

My best guess is it was a killer clown robot.

Although at first sight I thought it was a redesigned Davros.

(I did a ridiculously long shot-by-shot analysis of the trailer over on my LJ... yes, I am excited, y u ask?)

...I hadn't even thought of it being Davros. I guess since I hadn't watched Journey's End in a long time I'd kind of forgotten he was still here, but it'd be nice to see what Moff does with him.

I shall read your play-by-play once I get back on faster webbernets and can play the trailer again, because I want to compare shots like a big dork. :D

Personally, I'm in love with Eleven's glasses-pull. :D

That bit made me so happy. It made him look all flirty and cute, and while I am not a fan of canonical Doctor-shipping normally, if we have to have it I'd rather have flirty!Doctor than endless romantic angst.

MY ICON ACCURATELY DESCRIBES MY REACTION TO THE S5 TRAILER

EXCEPT THE MUSIC, I STILL DON'T LIKE THE NEW WHO SCORE :|

I KIND OF FORGOT THE MUSIC WAS THERE I WAS SO SQUEEFUL.

I can deal with almost any kind of music so long as it's mixed somewhere towards the back this time and doesn't drown out the dialogue like it did in Ten and Nine's era. Surely that can't be so hard to do?

All I can think right now is "so 'geronimo' is gonna be this one's catchphrase, isn't it?" (He said it at the end of End of Time.) That word reminds me of elementary school.

Oh no, I'm lying. I'm also wondering...that one clip when that pale girl in the dress and fangs runs up to whoever and like...roars in his face...does that look like Amy in a ton of makeup (and fangs) to anybody else? 'Cause if she's that kind of resourceful, I'm gonna love her.

That word reminds me of elementary school.

Me too, probably because that's the last time I heard anyone say it. I suppose I can deal with it; there could be worse catchphrases.

Oooh, I didn't get a clear look at her, so I hadn't even thought of that! I'll have to double-check and see if she looks like Amy when I can play the video again, because that'd be intriguing and get me EVEN MORE EXCITED for S5, if that's possible.

"there could be worse catchphrases."

I certainly hope so. Allons-y was French and whimsical, fantastic was just plain fantastic, this one...will be an acquired taste.

Yeah, it does kind of feel like it's trying too hard. Hopefully I'll get used to it as the series goes on.
