Been a while since I did that, hasn't it.

Anyway, I got an idea in my head for something I wanted to draw, and 20 minutes worth of drawing was my reward for every hour of homework done. This did encourage me to be a more productive artist, though, since it didn't take me the usual three weeks to finish a drawing.

So, anyway, it turns out that not only am I the sort of person who draws the Transformers as humans, I'm the sort of person who draws the Transformers as human women. I'm not sure what that says about me. And yeah, it's another static female figure, which I've been drawing since forever, and I should be branching out, but that is for a time when I don't have homework to do.

I did Bumblebee first, since I already had an idea of what I wanted girl!Bee to look like.

This is one of the only drawings I've ever done that turned out almost exactly like I imagined it. I'm rather proud of that. I am not proud of the awful visual pun going on with girl!Bee's striped stockings (especially since bumblebees don't even have stripes for the most parts, that's more the territory of honeybees and wasps) but I thought it was cute enough to leave in place.

A close-up on the face, because I like the face and I'm not normally very good with faces. She's mostly modeled on the book-cover illustration of Nymphadora Tonks (which I mysteriously can't find an image of at the moment), but with a younger, rounder face and apple cheeks.

I'll probably hold off posting this on DeviantArt until it's cleaned up and colored (though that means either learning to color or reinstalling GIMP), though I might not post it there either since I get this vibe that drawing human!TFs is generally frowned upon unless you're just as good at drawing the 'bots.

I also made two jewelry things! I made them for the Secret Santa with my friends, and now that [livejournal.com profile] xarisbanana  has received them I can show them off to you.

Skull necklace! I thought the bone skulls contrasted nicely with the slick, shiny hematite beads, and it gave me a chance to use that bone accent bead I've had around for a while and never found a good place for.

Close-up on the wee skulls, because I think they're cute:

I also made her a second necklace, because I was on a roll:

I'd had these hematite cone beads for a long time, but hadn't had enough to make a full necklace out of them. So, instead, I combined hem with some silver beads I'd also been meaning to use and some red accents that I had a lot of, and used the cones sparingly to form shapes.

No close-up, since that one came out blurry.

And now it is back to diligent homeworking tomorrow, la.

Very cute - my first thought was Jo had stolen Pippi's stockings and I haven't thought of Pippi Longstocking since...gosh, I don't even know when. I like Pippi so that's not an insult, btw - the face came out very well.

Bee did end up having a lot of facial similarities to that drawing of Jo I did a while back (http://pearllotus.deviantart.com/art/Planet-of-the-T-Shirts-148128167); they both have that round face and full cheeks and big smiles. I think it's a cute look, so I'm hardly complaining. Glad you liked it!

As well they should, given that I have about eight jillion of them and limited places to use them in. :D
