You guys it's snowing. It's really seriously snowing. We've got over two feet outside right now and it's still coming down.

I read the weather reports, yeah, so I knew it was coming, but I didn't really believe it, because I'd kind of forgotten that this area really got snow. I thought all those memories I had of snowstorms as a kid were made up or something.

I'd forgotten how satisfying it was to just kick snow around to no point or purpose.

(Also, I'm home. Just thought I'd post something.)

You too - 6-8 inches is still a lot to navigate, especially if the roads' aren't plowed.

Well, even when they are, you've got 2+ feet of snow in the gutters. Funtimes.

No kidding - some of the snowdrifts from the plow are up to my chest. I've gotten more soaked from those than I have from the snow itself.

Wow, that's a lot of snow! Nothing here at all, normal and rainy - I'm okay with that tho' as cold stuff here usually just means black ice and freezing rain. I love the sight of mounds of fresh snow, it's just so beautiful and it reflects the light like nothing else ever does. Enjoy it!

We usually just get freezing rain or slush here too - when we do get snow, it's maybe an inch and it melts the next day.

I'd forgotten just how pretty a carpet of snow looks - all smooth and even and shining when the sun comes up, and contrasting against the sky when it's dark. I almost regret the snowplows going through, because it spoils the landscape.

Oh good. I was worried about you getting home. Did it start snowing before you arrived?

I forgot to call even my own parents when I did get home just because I was so out of energy, so...sorry about that. It didn't start snowing until a couple of hours after I arrived at home - there was just a bit of rain in Virginia but nothing but cloudy skies otherwise. Though traffic was pretty ugly, since I hit 95 right as rush hour was starting, but that's not quite the same as bad weather.

Snow!!!!

I heart the snow. The puppy monsters are hysterical. Bernie was leaping about like a leaping thing in and out of snow banks. The tiny ones are pathetic - the snow is taller than they are.

Lets go sledding once the roads are usable.

My puppy monster didn't do much amusing with the snow, alas. She just tries to eat it, including trying to catch thrown snowballs in her mouth like dog biscuits. Though she did have to plow her own little pathways through the snow since it came up almost to her shoulders.

Yes yes! Plus, after a couple of days of melting and refreezing the snow should be a lot less powdery and better for sledding. My brother tried to go sledding this weekend, but his sled just sank when he got on it.
