I completely forgot about the audios. Thanks for bringing that up. The Time War's probably a good way to clear up that ambiguity, but with the whole "alternative universes are poison to the TARDIS" thing kind of made it seem like it had always been that way. Though maybe the presence of the Time Lords moderated that and gave the TARDISes some way to remain tethered to their proper universe? I don't know; it's all a bit confusing.

This is a good thing to strive for and as such I see no reason to discount your theory.

I think I'm leaning towards that one too, if only because it fits so much better with the theme of the chapter and gives me a way to tie it back to Chapter 2. Thanks for helping me talk this out; it really helps.
