Ask me a fandom, and I will tell you:

+ OTP
+ Runner-up
+ Honorable mention(s)
+ Crack pairing(s)
+ Ship everyone else seems to like, but I don't

As I'm very much a multishipper, "OTP" really translates to "pairing I like best at the moment".

I should go outside and catch some bugs or something.

Old Skool Who. And I love this meme. I am stealing it. <3

I encourage you to! Indeed I encourage everyone to. This meme is lovely and should keep perpetuating itself.

L&O fandom?

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 03:32am on 29/09/2009
I don't ship very much in the L&O-verse, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Let me see, what sort of old-school fandoms can I drag out of the woodwork...Numb3rs and/or NCIS?

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 03:32am on 29/09/2009
NCIS it is, because your icon is cute as can be. :)

Can you do regular CSI?

Indeed I can!

Discworld.

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 01:24am on 29/09/2009
I don't really ship anything for Discworld - I never thought to, honestly. So I'll try to pick something out, but if there are any other options...

How about New Who, then?

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 04:10am on 29/09/2009
Hmm. It'll take me a minute to remember what I actually ship there, but that I think I can do.

DISNEY.

Oh yeah, I went there.

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 02:00am on 29/09/2009
MY CHILDHOOD IS NOT A FANDOM. STOP THAT NONSENSE RIGHT NOW. Besides I'd probably pick boring canon pairings anyway.

WAIT WAIT POTC COUNTS AS DISNEY. As does Enchanted and WALL-E and Kingdom Hearts. I have OUTWITTED you!

posted by [identity profile] kayliemalinza.livejournal.com at 02:04am on 29/09/2009
MMM NO. I SPECIFY NEW-WAVE DISNEY. LITTLE MERMAID, ALADDIN, LION KING AND ALL THAT JAZZ.

DOOO IIIIIT.

I TOLD YOU I DIDN'T EVEN SHIP ANYTHING. EXCEPT FOR BERNARD/BIANCA/JAKE IN RESCUERS DOWN UNDER. THAT IS LITERALLY ALL I CAN THINK OF.

BESIDES I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE SHIP EVERYONE LOVES THAT I DON'T WOULD BE. KNOW WHY? BECAUSE MY CHILDHOOD IS NOT A FANDOM. >:(

OH MY GOSH I am SO SORRY. However can I MAKE IT UP TO YOU, O SENSITIVE PRINCESS.

lookie here, I've got this Sulu/Pike prompt I'm working on....

Ok, ok, since you RENEGED on this meme, I'll give you another fandom. STAR TREK REBOOT. GO GO GO. If you could fit Jo Grant in there somehow it'd be cool.

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 04:17am on 29/09/2009
IT MAKES ME LOL THAT PRINCESSES WORKED THEIR WAY INTO THAT SENTENCE.

lookie here, I've got this Sulu/Pike prompt I'm working on....

*entirely distracted by the shiny glory* :D

STAR TREK REBOOT. GO GO GO.

This I could do! Although I'm rather indiscriminate in my shipping habits so categorizing them is going to be entertaining. And hey, Jo Grant's riding about in a timeship; she can wander into any canon she feels like.

OH MY GOD I THINK I AM ALREADY SHIPPING HER WITH CHEKOV. AND ALSO PIKE. I NEED AN INTERVENTION. D:

posted by [identity profile] kayliemalinza.livejournal.com at 04:20am on 29/09/2009
I SHALL INTERVENE FOR YOU, MUPPET. I WILL INTERVENE WITH SHAMELESS ENCOURAGEMENT.

THINK ABOUT IT: PIKE AND THREE CAN HAVE A SILVER-FOX-OFF.

I NEED A PIKE ICON, DAMMIT.

THINK ABOUT IT: PIKE AND THREE CAN HAVE A SILVER-FOX-OFF.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT BY INTERVENING, AND YET I CANNOT BRING MYSELF TO COMPLAIN. IT'S LIKE THE BATTLE OF THE COMPLETE SARTORIAL OPPOSITES.

I THINK PIKE SHOULD WEAR THE CAPE FOR A BIT. HE'D LOOK SMASHING AND WOULD WEAR IT WITH GUSTO.

(Obviously Jo, being the diplomatic person that she is, reassures them that they are both fine-looking gentlemen and discreetly proposes a threesome. Because in Star Trek, the answer is always threesomes.)

ME TOO. I HAVEN'T FOUND THAT MANY, THOUGH THERE'S ALWAYS THE PIKE MINI-ICON HERE (http://redscharlach.livejournal.com/182209.html) SHOULD YOU SO DESIRE.

*goes to look up some Pike-pics*

Naaaah.... Three has him beat hands-down! *swoons for Three*

They'd be like yin and yang, is what amuses me. Straight black-grey hair and curly white-gray hair; slim snappy uniform and one-man texture palate; even their faces are different shapes.

I'll have to see how their heights match up, because this is entertaining me inordinately.

posted by [identity profile] kayliemalinza.livejournal.com at 04:29pm on 01/10/2009
YOU REALIZE, DON'T YOU, THAT PIKE IS IN UNIFORM. WHO KNOWS WHAT HE CHOOSES TO WEAR OFF DUTY?*

*A T-SHIRT AND JEANS. OK SO THAT'S PREDICTABLE. I DUN CARE. IT'S THE SEXIEST OUTFIT IN THE WORLD, GOOD FOR MEN OR WOMEN. DON'T JUDGE ME.

Dude, Kirk would steal that cape in a hot minute, you know it. And Pike would sigh in exasperation and just let him keep it. And Jo would assure him that "Don't worry, I bet you would've looked handsome in it anyway. I can just imagine."

THIS IMAGINARY CROSSOVER HAS TO END WITH JO GIVING PIKE A BIG SQUISHY HUG, BTW. JUST SAYIN'.

"OH MY GOD I THINK I AM ALREADY SHIPPING HER WITH CHEKOV."

OMG YES

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 03:59pm on 29/09/2009
THEY'D BE DARLING. IT WOULD BE LIKE A CRITICAL MASS OF CUTE. And you know Chekov would show off his Physics mad skills to her and she'd be eager to learn and would ask him all about life on the Enterprise and it'd just be so cute. *squeaks*

"BERNARD/BIANCA/JAKE"

AWWWWWWWWWWW

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 03:52pm on 29/09/2009
The Rescuers Down Under was the first thing I was ever fannish about, man. I didn't quite know how to write yet so I assigned my parents roles every morning and we'd act out the continued adventures of the Mouse Detectives.

And I remember I adored Jake and thought he was awesome and loved how he flirted with Bianca, but at the same time Bernard was such a decent and heroic fellow I couldn't break them up. She should just marry them both and they could live together and have adventures like a big family!

"I assigned my parents roles every morning and we'd act out the continued adventures of the Mouse Detectives."

*FLAIL*

I liked Jake on his own, and thought he was very friendly and worth having around, BUT BACK THE FUCK OFF BIANCA, MAN. SRSLY. They could be a trio, he'd just have to find that *other* type of action elsewhere.

Middleman?

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 03:43pm on 29/09/2009
Can do!

(I hate having only 15 icon spaces, because it means I'd have to get rid of something to have a Middleman icon. Boo.)

Do you ship anyone in the Scarlet Pimpernel world?

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 03:21pm on 30/09/2009
You know, I've neither read nor seen any version of The Scarlet Pimpernel! Which version were you referring to?

Though now that I've looked it up it looks like I really do have to check it out - thanks for pointing me to it!

There are scads of books but most of them are hard to find - you can follow the Blakeney Manor link on my journal to find the entire texts of all of them online (yay!) if so inclined. I would start off with the Anthony Andrews/Jane Seymour/Ian McKellen one, it's TOPS. Music from the stage musical with Douglas Sills is amazing too, but do the movie first! :-D

Baroness Orczy wasn't really the best writer, her women all tend to be a bit Sue-ish, but the characters and plot twists make it worth the reading anyway. Ironically, the "title" book that folks know best is really not her best effort.

Ooh, thanks for the link! Free books online are a very good thing indeed. *bookmarks*

And I'll see if I can rent the movie version, since I'm always looking for more good movies.
