So there was an interview out there featuring Verity Lambert, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, and Peter Davison, wherein Pat becomes so enthusiastic he knocks his comically-oversized glasses off in his flailing, Verity expresses her shock that the program had lasted 20 years at that point, and all the Doctors wave goodnight to the Brig at the end of their interview (bless, Jon still pronounces the last syllable of "Brigadier" as "di-ah" and I still find it oddly endearing)...

...and I had to find out about it entirely on my own?

You all fail at telling me things.

*goes back to watching*

(It's probably quite wrong of me to think that they are all wee adorable muffins (especially Pat, who is possibly the muffiniest of them all) and want to squeeze them a bit, isn't it? Oh well.)

Mood:: 'giggly' giggly

"Oh, yes! What are we talking about? Absolutely brilliant, yes!"

...I need to watch a Two serial. Right now. This is great!

"I looked like Harpo Marx!"

Isn't it, though? This show has the most adorable cast I've ever seen.

The last time I watched this I don't think I'd seen any Pertwee episodes, so it was fun to rewatch. My favorite moment is when Patrick Troughton calls his years on Who "a tremendously happy time." And also at the end when they're mentioning their companions and he singles out Jamie. (Not that I don't love Two's other companions, and I'm sure he did too, but he loved Jamie best!)

You know, I watched some of Troughton's other interviews that were linked in the sidebar, and the poster of this video was right - he does seem really ill at ease in a lot of his other interviews. Seeing him all happy and enthusiastic here, talking about how much fun he had doing Who, was a bit heartwarming.

It took me a couple of listens to catch who mentioned which companions. :)

Did you see this one? The (very nice) interview is audio-only, but it's accompanied by a wonderful slideshow of Troughton pics.

I hadn't seen that one! Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Peter mentioned all of them (I imagine Peri hadn't showed up yet) but omg he mentioned Nyssa first. And I heard who I'm assuming is Jon mention Sarah, but as to any others...*needs relisten*

I know Pat mentions Jamie - he mentions Jamie first, I think because they loved each other very much, and I think I heard Jon mention Sarah and Liz, but the rest of them I couldn't quite hear. Which means I need to watch it again, obviously. SUCH A BURDEN.

I remember watching an interview with Frazer where he said if he and Pat had really realized what they had at the time they never would've left - that they would've had to cart them out of the TARDIS in their old age, clawing at the walls or somesuch. ;-) Yes, Pat didn't like those interviews usually, did he? They gave him plenty of coffee for this one.

I've herad that interview! It was a special feature on one of the DVDs - I want to say The Invasion, but it might have been The Mind Robber. And it was so cute it made me squeak. They were just as snuggly and adorable offscreen as they were on, weren't they?

DID THEY SERIOUSLY PASS AROUND A SACK OF JELLY BABIES???? omgomgomg.

"What is the collective noun for a group of Doctor Who?"

A Who of Doctors - lol...

And yes - it looked to me like Jon pulled them out of his pocket, which totally seems like something he would do.

DID THEY SERIOUSLY PASS AROUND A SACK OF JELLY BABIES????

YES THEY DID. Because Troughton started that, you know. Baker The First made it famous but Troughton was the first to offer anybody jelly babies onscreen. Got to make sure people know who to credit, after all. :D

I still think my favorite moment is the little yelp Pat gives when he "notices" the Dalek model behind them. Aww.

eeeeeeeeeeeee passing around candy and babbling over each other and all the adorable goodbyes.

Isn't it adorable? It's so adorable. And I love that they all start talking at once, like, every time.

But of course they do - they're the same person, you know.

Oh Pat, how much do I love you? *pets*

And thank you Michael and Anneke for stealing his wig and mussing up his hair. I love Harpo, but the thought of Harpo! Two is just... Yikes.

I know! I hadn't heard about the wig in any other interviews - I hadn't realized how narrowly we'd avoided something so distressing. :D

I love that interview! It's in my very favorites, I love the way they all watch the screen when snippets are shown (Jon:"I looked terrible, (to Pat) but you looked good..." Peter: "I'm not there at all!") They're all completely squeezable, yes!

I think my favorite bit has to be Pat's little yelp when he "notices" the Dalek behind him. And his comically huge glasses, of course. :D
