Apparently, Block Transfer Computations has been nominated for the "Classic Who: Episode Tag" category of the Children of Time Awards. Which I...er...didn't even realize were running again. Many thanks, anonymous nominator! (And hurrah for them having a Classic Who category this time, plus separate categories for SJA and Torchwood! It all looks much better-organized this time around.)

Goodness, it has been forever since I finished anything at all, hasn't it? I should get on that.

In similar fic-related notes, there's already a category on Teaspoon for the Eleventh Doctor. WTF, people, he doesn't even have a personality yet. I'm confused.

Two unrelated points:

1. Most of the Rammstein's apparently been removed from iTunes, boo. I haven't ripped Live aus Berlin to my computer yet (since I, er, haven't unpacked it *looks sheepish*), but I wanted the studio version of "Keine Lust", dagnabbit. All that's left are Mutter and Rosenrot, which, while fine albums all, I already possess. Pfft.

2. USA's been running NCIS marathons as of late, and I think I ship Abby with pretty much everyone. I can see her with Gibbs, with McGee, with Ducky...granted, I haven't found a way to ship her with Kate, Ziva, or Tony yet, but give me time. I'm sure I'll think of something.

I should just fork over for more icon space already; I think I'm going to need an Abby icon. I love her lots and kind of want to be her.

Hilarious - I'm the complete opposite; I don't currently ship Abby with anyone. However, let me illustrate starting points in which you could ship her with the following people:

Kate: simple enough; watch their conversations (of a sort) in "Kill Ari." Plenty to extrapolate. And their friendship has been well established.
Tony: Same episode, with him diving to protect her. In general, they have a lot of rather cute banter, too.
Ziva: You saw the bitchslapping, right? Pure and simple: hate!sex! :P (*scrubs brain*) Or, you know, much nicer forms; I think Abby's hugged her a few times, and they seem like relatively good friends by now.

I want an Abby icon too. I have an unwritten rule about one-icon-per-show, unless it's one I frequently mention outside of review context, but this one's so pretty I don't want to give it up...

You know, none of the marathon episodes have been "Kill Ari". Which is irritating, because I feel like I'm missing a big, important thing, and I probably am, and I've seen the episode where Kate actually dies, but...well, now I know I need to make a point of it. I did see the bitchslap, though. :D

The thing is, Abby's just so darn affectionate and flirty with everybody that I can't help but ship her. Not in a serious, OTP way or anything, but I just see the possibilities all over the place. Though I might have to pick Abby/Gibbs, if I had to settle on one.

I just...there's so many icons I want to use, all the time, for all my shows. And I feel bad about swapping them out, because they're all so pretty, and what if I want to use them again? It's all very distressing.

a) Kill Ari is what flipped me from "I'm really enjoying this show in reruns" to "OMG LUV." I definitely recommend it. Or them, it's a 2-parter.
b) Yay! Abby/Gibbs was the one I liked for a while, until I dialed my rabid inner shipper down a bit. Excellent prioritizing. :P
c) It is distressing. I had to go get myself a paid account just to cope with it. Where are those a la carte pics they promised us, eh?

Congrats on the nomination! I volunteered to help notify the nominees because they are getting HUNDREDS of nominations...it's crazy. I guess voting for Round 2 will begin in February, and then there will be a Round 3 starting in March. Good luck!

Voting for Round 2 begins February 5, from what I can tell. There aren't nearly as many nominations for Classic Who and SJA - most of the categories aren't even full, but New Who categories seem to have filled briskly.

Oh well, I seem to remember that there were a lot of Marthafics that predated her first appearance onscreen. It's a lark, I suppose; and it'll be interesting to see which bits of these early fics get jossed (russelled? stevened?).

Good point, but I don't see the appeal myself. It's one thing to speculate about a minor character who's yet to show up, but basing the Doctor or companions on speculation seems like it's...missing the point?

I haven't looked myself, just because I'm not terribly interested in Eleven yet (he's not going to be here for another year), but...yeah, I'm sure a few of them are good, but I've never understood the appeal of speculative characterization of the main character. Hmm.
