Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] eponymous_rose  and [livejournal.com profile] livii :

Comment here, even if it's just with a "hey" or a "yo" or a "I saw a squirrel", and I will tell you something I like about you.

Replies will have to come in the morning, as I'm just about to head to bed (finished my reading for today!), but a little happiness never did anybody any harm. :D

I saw a squirrel! (just had to be first)

And actually...I did, my squirrel-feeder bird-feeder is just outside my window.

The birdseed never actually gets to the birds. I've accepted it. :D

I know I haven't "known" you very long, but you seem like a very fun, friendly person, and I love your fic - I keep meaning to tell you how much I adored the fic where Zoe wants to adopt a Quark, but it gives me a giggle every time I read it. I look forward to getting to know you!

We had a really long lecture about neurons today right on the tail of me forging through a textbook chapter about neurons and I'm so very worn out.

Ew, that's no fun. Hope you're feeling more energized by today.

You're intelligent, witty, and thoughtful, and your posts on The Brothers Karamazov make the book actually seem approachable (I had trouble with it when I read it, but then it's been a while). I always enjoy chatting with you about things fannish and otherwise, because you always bring up an interesting point I hadn't considered before.

I saw a squirrel, too! Well, three of them. They were stealing french fries out of my neighbor's trash.

They do tend to do things like that, don't they.

I love your handicrafts, fannish and otherwise, and am ever so envious of your ability to make them. Also, you're just a nice person in general, and (I hope this doesn't sound stalkery!) I love reading about all the things your kids get up to!

I am giving up on doing ten drawings for [livejournal.com profile] dw_historical, and am only going to finish the three that are most complete. That's One (in color!), Four (your Metropolis prompt), and Six (BRB LOLing forever).

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 12:51am on 15/01/2009
And I wish you the best of luck on those three! And I can't tell you how excited I am for the Metropolis drawing. :D

Which reminds me: my own [livejournal.com profile] dw_historical fic, it needs doing. I should get on that.

I adore your fanart, first off. It's fun and lively and always feels true to the spirit of the characters. And, like I said in your stocking comment, I love that we share so many obscure geeky interests, and whenever we talk I usually learn something new. Which is good. :D

No squirrels, but mice are pretty! As are snails. :)

Also, uni offers come out tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck. This meme sounds like a lovely to start tomorrow morning. :P

Also (again), I know I don't comment nearly as much as I should, but I think I should tell you that your journal, in all it's metatastic Classic!Who wonder, never fails to make me happy. :)

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 01:12am on 15/01/2009
Oooh! Good luck to you on your Uni offers! (And congratulations on those you've already got!)

I know I mostly lurk, but I do love reading your journal - even when I don't share the fandom, you're enthusiastic about what you love. And I love reading about your adventures in learning German, since it's a language I'm curious about but know nothing of.

No squrrels here, alas. Does seeing them on TV count?

posted by [identity profile] stunt-muppet.livejournal.com at 06:06am on 15/01/2009
Why, certainly it counts. It's still a squirrel.

I love the BizarreNews updates, for starters! I also love screencaps and recaps and the clips you post of Gato Fedorento and Goodies skits, and your Two-era squee makes me squee right along. Plus, you're just fun to talk to!

Yo-yo!

I love how involved and enthusiastic you are about fandom - running communities and ficathons, modding Teaspoon, participating in exchanges and fannish gift-swaps, all that - and yet (and I hope this doesn't come across as stalkery) you manage to balance that with an awesome life outside of fandom. I really admire that about you. Also, you write amazing fic; I'm always excited to see you've written something.

I don't know how you lot up north do it. It's 11 F up here and I still never want to go outside ever again.

You make me laugh, for starters; Tom Baker's Interchangeable Head still makes me giggle. You're also thoughtful and well-spoken, and I love your enthusiasm for less-well-known bits of Who fandom like the comics and audios.

If I were to see a squirrel around here, it would probably be frozen solid. ;)

I say to you what I said to [livejournal.com profile] biichan - I don't know how you all up north stand it. I categorically avoid going outside this time of year and we're still in the positive degrees Fahrenheit down here.

You're an amazing writer, with a gift for haunting yet deceptively simple observations. I love how sweet and generous and helpful you are, and your enthusiasm for your research is infectious. I always enjoy reading what you have to say!

It did indeed! I'm still fooling about with the profile and trying to make everything look pretty, but I do have an account there under the same name.

I love your love for the lesser-known bits of Who canon, and for the minor characters that inhabit it. I love your fic, especially the crossovers between Discworld and Sandman or the fic with Eight and C.S. Forester. I love all the entertaining memes you post. And I love how willing you are to lend a hand, whether it's technical advice or writing advice.

Were I not on the other side of the internet from you, I'd gladly help you shovel.

I know you say you're no good at meta, but I've always found your Who-related posts to be insightful, observant, and fun to read, and they frequently make me look at characters (especially One) in ways I hadn't before. I also love reading your reviews of the classical epics; they're irreverent and fun and so, so much better than the lessons that accompanied them when I read them for school. In fact, I just love reading your journal in general.

This sounds like a good plan. Perhaps I will follow suit.

You are so, so full of life, and I admire that about you. Whatever you're up to, you always dive right into it. You're bold and funny and the sort of person I'm glad I know. :D

OMG NOOOO. I shall pull you to safety!

You wrote Abraham Lincoln/Jefferson Davis RPS. I think this ascends you to some higher echelon of awesome. Also, I love how you can squee about Galactic Emperor Adric and discuss the relevance of watching Earthshock on YouTube as a postmodern media experience in pretty much the same sentence. I love your intricate, off-the-wall fic ideas; I love your Torchwood fic even though I haven't seen much of the show; I love the freewritten tidbits you tease us with.

That icon never gets old.

I adore you for bringing That Picture from The House that Dripped Blood into my life. I love your commentary on Who and Ashes to Ashes, even though I don't watch the latter, and you always find the best memes to post. :D

I miss your face too, hun. How's Scary Smiling Land treating you thus far? I'll have to give you a call tomorrow, or later today, or whatever this is.

Anyway, you know I love you. I love you because you make me laugh until I wheeze for absolutely know reason, and because we get each other and think on the same crazy brainwave. And because you're amazing and brighten up my life and one day I shall abduct you and take you away to my castle on the Moon FOREVAR. :D

No squirrels (which I honestly love), but today a co-worker gifted me with a *gorgeous* gem-studded gecko figurine just because she loves to work with me. I love working with her, too, because she's a fun person. (And I collect geckos.)

That was nice of her!

I love how skillfully snarky you are, and how even underneath the snark you still maintain a positive outlook on life, even when it kind of sucks. You're clever and sharp, and I love reading your journal. Plus, I learn things about writing as a career from reading you that I'd never know otherwise.

Indeed they are!

I love reading about your experiences in New York, and about all the teas you've tried. Your tastes in music are interesting, and I love seeking out the bands you recommend - they're always a little bit different and interesting.

You're so, so nice - you give of your time, you're friendly, you're always eager to spread the love, fannish or otherwise. I love how sane you are in this big, crazy fandom, and your fic is consistently excellent.

My housemate has declared that you do not know me at all, given that she frequently (usually affectionally) calls me a 'nutter' and you say you love how sane I am.

Perhaps fandom-sane is different to normal-sane?

Anyway, thank you for such a lovely coment.

No, I refer to fandom-sane. Real-life sane is just boring. :D
