Well, I'm done.

I've moved in to my (cavernous!) room, I've unpacked the majority of my stuff, I've gone shopping. I'm done. Granted, I'm stil in my parents' hotel room, watching TV, since they're leaving tonight, so I haven't navigated my college's labrynthine software registration system, but still, being unpacked in one day is an accomplishment.

Also, I'm not exaggerating about the 'cavernous' thing. We're getting a futon, that's how big it is. I'll have to post pictures.

(Er, I mean, I'm getting a futon. One of my hallmates had one they wanted to get rid of. I hope that's okay,

And I may even have a job this semester, which I wasn't expecting. It kind of fell into my lap, but it'll be nice to have an income this semester. I hope it works out.

I'm actually feeling pretty good about this semester. As odd as I'm sure this sounds, I'm sort of worried that I'm not worried enough. I'm taking another seminar this semester, plus another class with the professor of my Short Prose Fiction class last year. I should be at least concerned.

So how have you all been? I've missed you during the long internetless drought.

1. Hooray for being unpacked in a day! I applaud your efforts, as unpacking at the start of a new school year is my least favorite activity in the world (second only to packing for it).

2. High-five for cavernous rooms. They are things of majesty. I love that you have to get a futon to fill it up. :D

3. odd as I'm sure this sounds, I'm sort of worried that I'm not worried enough.
That's exactly how I felt last year! Turned out there actually wasn't that much to be worried about. maybe it was all in the power of positive thinking? Keep it up just in case. :D Also, send some of that not-worried-enough feeling back to me. I have need.

4. What's the job?

1. Oh, I normally hate unpacking so very much. My parents were here to help this year, and they were determined to get it all done at once. Good for them. :D

3. *sends good feelings your way* Good to know I'm not the only person feeling like this. Hopefully there'll turn out to be nothing to worry about as well. :D

4. I may be babysitting for a family who lives right near campus. I've never actually babysat before, so this'll, um...be an experience.

Wait, you've never babysat at *all*??? I am...speechless and simultaneously sort of enchanted by the idea that a person could get through their teenage years without babysitting. That actually sounds rather fun for a part-time job, depending on how old the kid(s) are.

No! I've watched kids before, while they're parents were still at home, but I've never properly babysat. So I'm a little nervous. The kid's only about three or four, though, which is sort of manageable.

Oh, that's a good age. Old enough to be out of diapers and talking properly, but young enough to be entertained fairly simply. And less apt to talk back, at least in my admittedly limited experience.

Mine, too - I was really worried about changing diapers, but it looks like I've dodged that bullet. She's a really sweet kid, too.

Ooh, cavernous rooms. I am jealous. :)

We were really lucky to get this room this year. I'm almost nervous for next year, since any other room will be a step down. :)

Sweet! I loves me the sound of a free futon! I moved in last night from nine to 12.30. Exhausting. But the absolutely ENORMOUS amount of storage in our room made it soooo much easier! I have to buy books today, not sure what else.

OH HI I'M ACROSS THE ROOM FROM YOU AND COMMENTING ANYWAY.

(It's actually a $50 futon, not free. But that's almost as good! Also go buy your books, the bookstore closes at 5 or something.)

I have to start my packing, sigh, I have a week before I have to go back. Yeah, for school jobs, what is it exactly? Ooo, you'r going to babysit, I have only babysat my cousins, and it was like once or twice.

I have been alright, just basically working out, taking as many day trips around the area before I have to leave for school. I just went out for BBQ in Mount Airy. I plan on going to the pool one more time, before they shut it down for labour day :(

I've never babysat before at all, so this'll be an interesting experience. Assuming that she does contact me, of course.

Day trips are a good plan - I probably should have done more of that. Especially the pool.
