- I'M ACTUALLY WRITING GUYS. It's awesome. Granted, it's a whole new thing rather than the 2937510385 projects I'm supposed to be doing, but I'M WRITING HURRAH. Perhaps this will springboard me back into action.

- Hot peppers are the tools of evil. Especially hot peppers that cleverly disguise themselves to look like slices of okra, so that you are lulled into a false sense of security and pop one in your mouth whole.

- Every time I see the TV show Bonekickers mentioned I read it as Boneknickers. My Freudian slip is showing.

- I am running out of days in which to do things before school starts, and that scares me.

- I did an iPod swap with my brother and found that, while my iPod has to be turned up at least halfway most of the time to get decent volume, his is plenty loud at only a quarter volume. On further investigation, we found that this was because his earbuds are not old and torn up like mine. It's good to know that this is a mechanical problem and I'm not going deaf.

- Every single time I tell people what my majors are, they ask me if I'm going to med school. I always feel bad telling them no, but I could not handle medical school. Plus, if I was planning on doing that, I would have needed to start studying for the MCATs about a year ago.

- I want to make a fanmix. I actually have three specific mixes I'd like to make, but one of them is for a fandom that doesn't seem to do fanmixes and one of them has a total of two songs on it.

- I also think my overwhelming desire to make a Doctor/Sarah Jane vid to "Come So Far (Got So Far To Go)" from the 2006 Hairspray movie might just be overcoming my apathy towards learning how to make vids. Plus, then I can make the Year That Never Was vid to "Draconian Crackdown" that I've been secretly hoping someone else would make.

I suppose, failing that, I could just build a Doctor/Sarah Jane mix around the aforementioned song.

- Perhaps, in lieu of vidding and mixing, I could just make icons with lyrics on them. I've been doing a lot of icon-making recently, and there are a lot of single songs that really click with certain characters for me, so slapping some artsy-lookin' text on an icon saves me the trouble of learning how to vid.

I'd still have to learn to do artsy-lookin' text, though. Icon-making friends, any text resources you'd like to point me to? I'm a GIMP user, in case that matters.

- Dear Everyone in DW Fandom, New and Old: Go read the script to The Smugglers. Just type in "Doctor Who The Smugglers Transcript" into Google; it's not hard to find.

No, just go read it. See, I'm nice and won't insist you sit through a recon, because goodness knows I can't do a recon all in one sitting most of the time. But do read the script.

Done yet? How about now? Good. Now go write me lots of Ben/Polly fic. Thank you. :)

Really, though, how did I not realize how amazing The Smugglers is? Polly gets mistaken for a guy! Ben and Polly are shippy beyond reason! Ben and Polly trick someone into letting them out of jail by making a fake voodoo doll of him and convincing him that they're witches! The Doctor gets kidnapped by pirates. But not before Ben tries to beat them up to save him! And that's all in the first episode!

Dammit, why are all the burninated serials so good? It makes me sad.

---

Since it's my last day, nobody assigned me anything at work, and everyone else has already gone home, so I've got the office to myself and a whole hour and a half with which I may write. Nice. :)

...although I'm sure there's something I ought to be doing that I don't remember at the moment.

Just type in "Doctor Who The Smugglers Transcript" into Google; it's not hard to find.
Or, alternatively, you can go here. As I keep on needing to search for the scripts, I have this transcript page bookmarked.

I'm currently preparing my Doctor Who/M*A*S*H crossover, so I'm afraid I won't be able to follow your request any time soon. However, I am planning to include a cameo by Ben and Polly (and Alan) in the fic that will follow - hope that works for you :D

Edit: Oh, and I almost forgot: yay for writing again!

Ah, thank you! I've just been using Google to get to the scripts, so it's helpful to have the link itself.

You have many other find projects lined up, and thus are excused from meeting my petulant fannish demands. :D But any appearances from Ben and Polly are more than welcome, of course.

I endorse any and all fannish product regarding Doctor/Sarah. And I encourage you to get on any combination of the three choices you put forth.

I just listened to Power of the Daleks, and because Ben/Polly are the stuff of my batshit adoration, OMG. He called her "love"! A term of endearment for which I am the world's biggest sucker! And she told one of her captors she'd like to see him stand up to a "REAL man, like Ben!" *dies* So, there's the glee that apparently I can easily find a transcript! (though I'm rather patient with recons, actually), and then there's the ultimate selling point on top of that that it is crazy shippy for Ben/Polly?! I AM SO VERY VERY THERE.

ETA: And I totally think "Boneknickers" too. XD

I've got a couple of songs put together by now for the fanmix, but it's not quite enough yet, and most of them aren't particularly eclectic or unusual. But I do really like making mixes...

Ben/Polly are the stuff of my batshit adoration

MINE TOO. I don't know why I'm so attached to them, but I am. Maybe because so few people seem to know about them? But yes, The Smugglers is so very, very Ben/Polly shippy and also contains Polly talking like a pirate. And being the adventurous one while Ben hangs back being a bit more cautious, which for some reason I love.

And I totally think "Boneknickers" too.

I'm so glad it's not just me.

I love it too. I love "weird girls and the somewhat more stable men who adore them." Kind of my ultimate bulletproof couple kink. XD Even more than the woman more on top of things than her significant other. AND IF YOU MIX THEM?

Heh, I've a soft spot for those too - both of them. :D (Which - digression time - is why so many of the couples I like end up being May/December. Older, more sensible, quieter guy meets younger, vivacious, enthusiastic girl and all that. Of course, Ben/Polly gives me the sensible/whimsical thing without all the attendant age gap problems, hurrah for them.)

That too. May/December can be pretty awesome, especially with that personality arrangement. I take ships on a case-by-case basis, but I haven't got an inherent problem with age gaps.

Every single time I tell people what my majors are, they ask me if I'm going to med school.

whoa there, what exactly are you majors? To be totally honest, I had you pegged as English. Or Spanish. Definitely not physics or bio.

I'm a double-major in Biology and English, so you're half right. :) I was going to major in one and minor in the other, but neither of those had minors available.

If by "text" you mean "fonts," dafont.com is a great source for all kinds of fancy fontses.

And if you think popping a pepper into your mouth by mistake is bad, TRY POPPING IT IN WITH YOUR FINGERS AND THEN RUBBING YOUR EYE BWAHAHAHAHAHA. (Happened to my mom. Twice. Why learn?)

Ooooh, thank you for the site rec. I'll be sure to abuse this mightily (or until my memory runs out, whicever comes first).

D: Eeew. That's no fun at all. I mean, just the mouth is bad enough, but the eye, too? How'd she get it out?

The great thing about fonts is that they don't seem to take up much space on your hard drive. So, happy downloading! :D

I don't think she got that much in, but we were out at the time, so she had to make do with a paper napkin I had in my bag. D: Don't touch the peppers, kids, they'll melt your face off.
