I'm the opposite - I love to make him speak. But then again, I tend to make him say the darnedest things. :D

See, I have a hard time keeping his speech patterns consistent - not the accent, because I can usually get away with not making dialogue completely phonetic, but just the rhythm in which he speaks.

Yeah, that can be a problem... In my case, I usually work around it by refusing to think about that aspect while I'm working on the first draft. I just put him face to face with Fourteen and let them do all the talking for me; it's only when I'm revising things that I do check if the rhythm is consistent with his character. My beta being a Jamiephile with a strong Scottish heritage also helps.
