1. He was a bit meh in Curse of the Black Pearl, but by At World's End Will Turner had become an actually viable and, in my opinion, interesting character in his own right. There's much to be made of his continued association with Jack, his single-minded fixation on a father he doesn't even know, and just where Elizabeth fits into all this; granted, they never really went into it on screen, but still.
2. The entire Cannibal Island sequence in Dead Man's Chest could have been excised without doing the movie any harm. I still skip those scenes when I watch. Except for the one where everyone's rolling around in a giant hamster ball, because watching Kevin McNally and Orlando Bloom scream and flail is so worth it.
3. I really liked Cutler Beckett in At World's End. Again, he was meh in Dead Man's Chest, but in AWE we get to watch him play off both Jack and Davy Jones, and I love watching his poker-faced calm play off their more unpredictable natures. I wish there was more fic about him.
