HAHAHAHAHAHA. I think it just might be, but I certainly share it. I mean Leia will always be one of my favorite characters in history, but she was raised in a loving family and brought up to be a leader and a stateswoman. Luke, on the other hand, grew up without any purpose of direction of his own. While I'm sure Owen and Beru did the best they could for him, he was absolutely raised in the shadow of his father and Owen's hatred of Anakin and that life. So, I don't blame him for being a whiny little bitch in the first movie. And I think Hamill did an AMAZING job of showing Luke's transformation from child to Jedi. (Woh, sorry that was such a long-winded response.)
What bothered me most about Episode 1 was not the dodgy acting or the dodgier script but those damn midichlorions.
You know what? I think I have actively and successfully removed that entire plot device from my head-canon. It just never happened. I honestly had forgotten all about it or I would have included it myself. ABSOLUTELY stupid. You are 100% right.

I think so, too, which is one of the reasons I like him so much. His whole arc is about him growing and maturing into the Jedi role; it wouldn't make any sense for him not to be a child, with all the attendant petulance and rebellion, at the beginning.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH. At least the Powers That Be had the good grace never to mention it again. (Did they? I might have blocked it out.)

See?! It was so stupid we have managed to effectively erase it from canon! Even if they did mention it again, I didn't hear a word of it. ;-)
