Posts like this make me feel productive.
In vaguely chronological order...
1. Slept in, because I've got no more 9:30 classes. Hell yeah.
2. Had Diet Mountain Dew for lunch. Ran out of cereal during breakfast.
3. Did a bit more research and such for my final essay, including writing up a prompt. Studied a bit for my finals, specifically my Bio and Religion finals. Got finals envelopes turned in. Was actually kind of legitimately productive.
4. Tried to hash out a plot outline for Memory, so that I won't get stuck halfway or paint myself into a corner. I'm now facing a unique dilemma, in that I can't get the giant robot out of the plot. I'm completely serious. EVERY TIME I try to write out a plot for this thing, it ends up involving a giant robot. I DON'T KNOW WHY. I feel like I'm derailing a potentially dramatic and mysterious plot by putting a giant robot in it, but it's not like it's a gratuitous giant robot. Also, as of this most recent plot draft, the Brig hasn't got much to do, which is unforgivable. Turns out writing enough plot to accommodate four charactersand a giant robot is a bit difficult. I try to remind myself that I used to be able to manage a plot okay with upwards of eight characters at once, but then I remember that the fic in question wasn't all that good. (But but but the plot wasn't the problem, she protests.)
5. Contemplations for my newest hour!fic crack caused it to veer into Five Things territory, which eventually ended with a ficlet in which Barbara came to the unsettling realization that the Doctor had served as advisor to Catherine the Great, and, by extension, was totally nailing her. Susan, thankfully, does not pick up on this. Just so you know, this has nothing at all to do with the prompt I was given. And I eventually abandoned the Ninth Doctor/Louise Brooks idea, because it would be way more disturbing than I felt like getting.
5.a. Realized that writing about Marilyn Monroe in any kind of fic makes me feel guilty, given her rather depressing and horrible life story. I feel bad using her for what's essentially RPF.
5.b. Realized I was writing RPF. Was horrified.
6. Watched CSI: Miami's "Blood Brothers" again, in order to refresh my voices for work on Little Brothers, since I've already got that mostly plotted out and don't have to worry about giant robots sneaking in. Realized how direly I missed Yelina, and suddenly remembered why I haven't been bothering to keep up much with the current season.
6.a. Watched The Marisol Delko Clip Show, since unfortunately, many of the episodes she's in are terribly uninteresting save for her presence. Fell in love with her all over again. Wrote a bit more of that perennially-progressed H/M fluff. Felt good after all the plotting.
6.b. Watched CSI's "Gum Drops" to cap it off. Fell in love with Nick all over again. Freewrote a bit to practice his voice.
6.c. Realized my
unusuallygenfic is due in two months and I've not even started. Panicked a bit and cued up some Law & Order for voice refinement. Realized that the nature of my prompt was as such that I essentially had two partner choices: Stabler and Benson (who I've no interest in writing) or Goren and Eames (who I literally cannot write - despite my best efforts I've no Bobby-voice). Realized I could probably also get away with Logan and Wheeler/Barek/Falacci. Was happier.
6.d. Realized that my prompt also pretty much necessittated a casefile. Swore.
7. Loafed around my room for a bit. Made my bed. Did some cleaning.
8. Learned anew that if I ever say something like "Let's make an adventure of it!" when I go somewhere with someone, it means we'll spend at least an hour driving in circles, hollering "Where the fuck are we going?!".
8.a. Also learned to hate the nether regions of this state and its infuriating unmarked roads, to say nothing of its tendency to suddenly become the next state without warning. wtfsrsly.
9. Bought the next Penny Arcade book. It made me laughed uproariously in the middle of Borders and I decided I needed to own it despite my resolution not to spend so much money. Managed to resist all manner of TV-flavored crack, however.
9.a. Thought longingly of the coming days in which I will once again have a paycheck.
10. Finalized Liz/Martha mix list; got started on fics to match each song; started tinkering about with cover art. Still don't know what I'm doing.
11. Contemplated movies tomorrow. Haven't been to the movies in a while.

It's Friday night, so I'll likely be up a bit longer. Were I wise, I'd spend this time doing some real, honest work, but wisdom is something I cannot yet be accused of.
Au revoir.

I got absolutely nothing useful done today schoolwise. Fandom-wise, I made out rather well; I'm wishing my laptop worked properly, because I really want to watch The Invasion!

...although every time I see him not dressed as the Doctor I'm stuck by the urge to feed him. Damn but he's bony.

Also, the trainers! So cute.

I thought I'd replied to this already. *looks perplexed*

LOL. That is my favorite part of the whole entry. Although 8a just makes me laugh really hard, possibly at your expense (if so, I apologize. *fights snickers*)

8a is funny now that it's not actually happening to me. Seriously, that state boundary came out of NOWHERE. I don't understand it.
