You guys, Ms. Frizzle is a Time Lord.

Yes, like Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus.

I am absolutely certain of this.

Think about it. She's got a sentient school bus that can change its shape and size, travel through time and space, and, when necessary, turn into a frog. And how are all the kiddies able to fit comfortably in there, when we all know that school buses are cramped, miserable dens of used gum and rejected lunches? Highly advanced model TARDIS, obviously.

Her wardrobe's way more out-there than anything the Doctor's ever donned, and I am including Six in these calculations.

She's just as cavalier about taking the kids to other planets and into volcanos and such as the Doctor is. And "Take, chances, make mistakes, get messy!"? Tell me you can't hear the Doctor saying something like that in at least one of his incarnations.

Conclusion: Ms. Frizzle = Time Lord.

You know, I'm fair certain that my seven-year-old self suspected that she was some sort of alien. It's gratifying to know that I was totally right.

The really shameful part of this is that I suddenly want to write crossover fic, in spite of the fact that it would be bad and wrong and my childhood shows are supposed to be off-limits for this sort of thing.

But I wanna write it anyway. HELP.

This has been today's Spontaneous Geekout. Thank you, and have a pleasant afternoon.

[ETA] While we're on the subject of insane crossovers, Doctor vs. GlaDOS would be amazing. Yeah, yeah, the Doctor's gone against insane computers before, I know, but...still. It's GlaDOS. Of course it'd be awesome.

Although they'd have to get the Doctor to stop fiddling with the Aperture Gun first, I suppose.

I blame/thank The Invisible Enemy for making me realize it. "Hey, all this 'shrinking down to microscopic size and going inside the Doctor's brain' stuff seems very familiar...oh my god."

NOT ONLY THAT, but she was probably one of the Doctor's teachers at Prydon. You know it's true.

And the thing is, you just know she wouldn't wear her professorial robes. She'd show up for class in the same dresses she wears on Earth, and she'd be shameless about it. :D

She probably got fired around the same time he got expelled, then. XD

No question. But she had the sense to grab a really nice TARDIS before she made her daring escape.

I'm not sure if this would help or hurt your urge to write fic, but it does support your theory.

It's brilliant. And you are so right.

...I had forgotten about the lizard. How did I forget the lizard?

And yes, that is brilliant. Brilliant and sad. Thank you for pointing it to me!

YES SHE IS.

And so is James Bond.

I hadn't even thought of James Bond, but yes! That's how he can be Sean Connery and George Lazenby and Roger Moore et al - he just regenerated!

But is Q a Time Lord as well?

Quite possibly.

(Actually, I suspect everyone in that division is a Time Lord. It's probably a CIA Project.)

YES IT DOES. Because you know that she occasionally had to jet off in the bus once school let out and save the universe or something.

And yay for The Invasion! Weekend plans, methinks?

You know it.

Weekend plans foshizzle, as Kaylie likes to sometimes say.

I have a few house events I need to attend this weekend, what with frolics, but I'm sure I can squeeze in an hour or three between that and schoolwork. Especially if that hour or three promises to involve Two. :D

I always knew Ms. Frizzle was awesome. And yes, the school bus is definitely a TARDIS.

Gah, I miss that show....and if you don't write that crossover I may have to.

Yay for Spontaneous Geekouts :)

I love having a Spontaneous Geekout. It always makes my day brighter.

And I can't make any promises, but I want to write this crossover so badly that certain school-related topics might just have to take a backseat...again I would love to see what you do with it, though. ;)

:D Isn't it great? I swear, this realization has improved my entire week.

Heck yes! Wouldn't be surprised if the creates of the Magic Schoolbus were weaned on the Doctor.

And a crossover is totally legit. I would read it.

I don't know how likely that is, given that I think it was created by an American, but it's nice to think so. :D

Dude, fic would be awesome! :D

EEE.

[livejournal.com profile] doyle_sb4 was all over this concept.

(has joined)

And after the initial burst of [name]-is-so-a-Time-Lord posts, there needs to be a ficathon.

This makes me want to watch Dr. Who. Something I have never, ever, ever done. Not even a litle bit (unless you count previews on the CBC, which you totally can't). Because I need to NOT HAVE another tv show to watch. Damn you muppet! *mock fist shaking*

(I had not seen that icon before, and must express my joy for it.)

Hee! I wouldn't recommend getting into it if you're not looking for another show to watch, because this fandom is like a black hole of distraction. :D That said, I regret nothing.
