Stop introducing me to all this new music I've never heard of and making me covet it. I don't have the time or the disposable income for that, and frankly I've wasted hours now listening to 30-second samples and that's just pathetic.

This goes doubly when said music has no possible practical applications re: usage in a mix, and triply when no one's ever heard of it and so my odds of getting it free are negligible.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's iTunes library.

If anyone needs me, I'll be listening to the sample of "Daydream in Blue". AGAIN. Rragh.

Speaking of miscellaneous iThings, dearest darlingest Pearl (my lovely pink Nano) has started to become temperamental. She normally shuts off just like she's supposed to when I hold the Play button, but for some reason, if I'm in a hurry and need to shut her off fast, I can sit there holding/pressing Play all day and Pearl will stubbornly stay on.

Really. Phone's ringing? She won't shut off. Class starts in five minutes? Doesn't matter how many times I press and hold that button, because nothing's gonna happen. I really, really have to use the necessaries? Best just take the headphones out and leave her to her own devices until I get back.

She's a devious thing, is my Pearl.
Mood:: 'cranky' cranky
Music:: Hmm, I wonder.

My laptop (September, for the curious) is like that! Never when I need her off, ever.

Heh...I have to admit, when mine does that, I just hold the Power button. I know it's bad for my computer, but...it's just so much quicker than trying to figure out why it won't shut off in the first place.

Me too. Except I've found that, when I do that, it turns itself back on in a couple minutes. So I have to hold down the power button, turn it back on, and then shut it down. Unless I really don't care if it is or isn't off at the time, then I'll just press and leave.

You know, I'd never heard of a computer doing that before. Hmm.

Oh, computers. We rely on you and yet you confound us. :)

::hugs:: My iPod is like that, too! I wonder, is it something inherent in all the devices, or just ours?

Ah, iTunes coveting. I fondly remember my freshman and sophomore years when a little programme called ourTunes still worked (before Apple, almost certainly under the baleful influence of Microsoft, that hussy), and I could yoink my neighbours' iTunes whenever I wanted for free. Lovely times. I was crushed when I found out it no longer worked.

I kind of think this is Steve Jobs' cruel practical joke, his way of reminding us that he sees and knows everything. XD

I am equally envious of ourTunes. It would have been so very convenient, much more so than actually having to e-mail back and forth.

Oh, it was wonderful; especially since the other person didn't know you were taking their stuff. XD

Yes, yes it does! It's how I obtained about 1/3 to 1/2 of my collection. Man, I really miss that little programme.

moonshadow ( iPod) ends up losing battery life when i scroll through my songs too much. It also had problems turning on at one point, I had to keep on clicking the hold button a few times. Yeah, sometimes moonshadow randomly turns itself on when i have class, it is like not now.

The worse was blue my stubbord cd player, that wouldn't play certain songs, and would only allow me to play a certain song every once in a while :/

Huh. I think iPods are just moody in general - it turns itself on because it wants attention. :D But I love 'em anyway.

I remember my old CD player; it's completely broken now, but when it was in its early stages of breakdown you had to jiggle the ON button a bit before it would play anything at all. And then some songs would only play out of one of the speakers. It was strange.
