HEE. Excellent point! As to the rest of it, I haven't seen season 1 in ages. I'll notice reruns on A&E and then skip right past them; it makes me want to cry when I see evidence that Horatio was once human. And I fear if I start watching the good old days - you know, the more I see of them, the more I wonder why people started mocking this show from the onset; the mannerisms were really not that bad and it's pretty quality storytelling - I won't ever be able to bring myself back to the current seasons.
Weirdly, I do not pine for the early seasons of CSI at all. Everyone looks so strange in season 1 - hey, kind of like X-Filse! - that I can hardly believe it's the same show, and I get kind of bored with it. Although, on second thought, season 2 had a lot of my favorite eps, so maybe it's just the first year I have issues with.

I have to admit this is happening to me, to an extent. I think there was a point in Season 5 - "Triple Threat", I want to say - where I ended up saying "Fuck this", turning off the TV, and going to go watch "Big Brother" again. I regretted nothing.
I'm not so much pining for the early seasons now - CSI's been pretty consistently good, in my opinion, and Season 5 was excellent. It's just that...what with all the cast changes, I'm going to start clinging to the older stuff, as I tend to do after an upsetting cast change. And unless the rest of Season 8 really impresses, I won't want to move on. :(
