And, speaking as someone who only fairly recently delved into the old series as well, I can say that both Old and New have their faults and I do wish that was taken into consideration more often. There's no need to tear one down to make the other look good! Really!
Who fandom is, not to put too fine a point on it, pretty dang full of misogyny to begin with.
Which strikes me as really, really bizarre, considering how many women I've met in the fandom. Hmm.
I'm glad I didn't come across as snobby - I was worried about how this was going to sound.
