stunt_muppet: (round thing)

 "Fern Hill", by Dylan Thomas, is my new favorite poem ever. I managed to zone out almost entirely in my litcrit class today because I was rereading it in our poetry textbook. This did lead to a somewhat embarrassing moment when I was called up to the board to explain a certain poem's meter. (Although the fact that I can never remember which symbol means "unstressed" and which one means "stressed" contributed to the humiliation somewhat.)

I remain bound and determined to finish the first chapter of That Fic by the end of the week, or at least after class lets out on Friday. It's so temptingly close to being finished and not completing it is driving my batty. I keep going back to it when I should be doing my work.

Also, I got the Across the Universe soundtrack over the break (I caved while getting my brudder his birthday present), and now, for some reason, I have this urge to learn to draw again and do a whole bunch of themed Three/Jo fanarts to Beatles music.

See, in my head, Jo's become tied to the Beatles ever since she quoted "I Am The Walrus" in The Three Doctors, and so now whenever I hear the songs on the soundtrack, I think of her - and thus of Three, and the Brig, and Mike, and Benton, and etc.

See, "I Am The Walrus" would have to involve Jo Having Adventures with Two and Three and possibly One, since The Three Doctors is where the association came from. And then "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" could be the Doctor taking Jo to some surreally-colored alien world, and her thinking it's completely amazing. "Being For The Benefit of Mister Kite"? Alien circus. "Revolution"? Off-world political agitation that they somehow get involved in, of course. "With a Little Help From My Friends"? UNIT family.

And then there'd be things like "All You Need Is Love", which would be shamelessly squishy and involve HUGGING.

I have no idea what I'd do with "Happiness is a Warm Gun" and I refuse to discuss where my brain went with "Helter Skelter".

I'm pretty sure this counts as a Crime Against Fandom. *shame* Also, I have a crazy girlcrush on Dana Fuchs.

[ETA] I just realized that "Oh! Darling" would be a little bit perfect for something post-Claws of Axos, when/if Jo calls the Doctor on his "I'm leaving with the Master, enjoy the nuclear apocalypse!" stunt. Sure, it would be sappy and overtly shippy in a way that I try to avoid being, but THAT'S WHY IT'S A CRIME AGAINST FANDOM.

And maybe "Dear Prudence" could be a pre-Curse of Peladon thing, where Jo's about to head off on her date and the Doctor tempts her with Adventures!

*more shame*

Back to work. It occurs to me that class selection is coming up soon, and I still don't really know what I'm taking. Heck, I still haven't declared a major or anything. Bah, decision-making. I pretend I don't have to do it.

Music:: All You Need is LOVE!
Mood:: 'giggly' giggly
