I'd recommend seeing it; Johnny Depp has a surprisingly good singing voice, and the movie's very well done. It's almost beautiful, grim and sick though it is. And despite all the throat-cutting you never really see any of the neck viscera. There is a lot of blood, though. It's Tim Burton Movie blood, so it's not quite the same color and consistency as real blood (which made it a little easier for me), but it's still all over the place.
