Pick a good movie. Go on, pick one. And not a neglected, overlooked masterpiece either. A famous good movie.
Got one? What was it? Casablanca? Citizen Kane? The Godfather? Apocalypse Now? A Few Good Men? Requiem for a Dream? Rain Man? One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest? A Clockwork Orange? Se7en? Pulp Fiction? Silence of the Lambs? Anything Hitchcock has ever made?
How about action movies? How about the original Terminator and T2? How about the first Matrix? The first Die Hard? Jaws? Speed?
Comedies? The Legend of Drunken Master? Raising Arizona? Dr. Strangelove? The Rocky Horror Picture Show?
Know what these all have in common? They're all available for rental from my campus video service. On VHS. Which is just fantastic, now that everyone and their grandmother has a DVD player and you actually have to pay extra for a VCR.
And what do we have in our DVD section? Oh, just the essentials. You know, like American Pie 3 and UltrafreakingViolet.
Dear campus video rental service: I appreciate you providing me with many other films I enjoy (I, Robot, The Incredibles and Sleepy Hollow among them), but, to quote Penny Arcade's Gabe, make with the fixing.
It's way too late and I should be in bed. I will be, shortly. But first, a brief update on the under-repair social life of Stunt Muppet:
PLUS COLUMN:
-Spent time loafing around the Student Union (+1 point)
-Made movie plans for Friday night (granted, I made those plans on Facebook)(+5 points)
-"Asked out" the guy I like (and by "ask out" I mean "vaguely suggest that we should do something in the same location without really committing to anything". Oh, and that was also on Facebook.)(+4 points)
-Watched a movie I'd never seen in the lounge with a girl from my hall and some of her friends (+2 points)
MINUS COLUMN:
-Didn't follow up on invitation to watch "Titanic" with the girls and thus removed myself from an important femenine bonding ritual (in my defense, I didn't know where said movie was being watched)(-2 points)
-Ate "lunch" (and by lunch I mean cereal) in my dorm again (-1 points)
-Ate dinner in the Union alone (-2 points)
-Ended up spending most of the damn day on the internet anyway (-6 points)
So far, that brings my Build a Better Social Life point total to...1 point. Huzzah. Let's throw a party.
Play-by-play of first classes of semester shall come once I've gotten some sleep.
The promised meme:
Comment here and I'll tell you one thing that I like about you. Then go post it in your LJ and return the sentiment. You know the drill.

XDDDD You know, you really should award yourself more points for the plus column. I'm commenting on the meme thing.
Your video store must be seriously behind the times...we have the entire Matrix Trilogy on DVD. Oh, and the Terminator movies, too. I think.

I'm jealous of your video store. >___< I really wanted to watch the first Matrix the other day, but I couldn't. Guess why?
And the meme: I like viralmancer because she's an awesome writer and I love reading her stuff, and because she helps me look at things in new and more interesting ways.

Oh, and wow. Thanks! :D

Plus, there are a few people who, for reasons I don't fully understand, aren't on Facebook, and therefore don't really exist. XD

Where do you do your homework? Maybe, use the computer lab instead of your room, or possibly read in the union.
I am lucky with a 24-hour computer lab.

Meme: I like eyesmadeofjade because we've been friends since forever, have so much in common, and because she never fails to make me smile. :)
