I know, isn't it? The fact that there's two people in that costume makes it so much worse. And part of it is that the whole Silent Hill art style makes their monsters all look really dirty and rotted, so seeing that translated to a real-life person just has this whole other, gross dimension to it.

I actually haven't run across the Shambler yet (I'm paranoid about keeping my torchlight up and he only appears if you're in darkness or if you purposefully summon him), but the Tentacle design would make an entertaining costume because if I'm not going to go the whole nine and make a tentacle suit that hides my face, I could instead make the little tendrils and red spots into some sort of jaunty hat, and that idea entertains me.
