Man advanced physics is weird.
Wanna feel very short-sighted? Watch the episode of "Through the Wormhole" on what time is and whether it really exists. Watch your Christmas shopping list suddenly feel very insignificant.
Also, yeah, the new commenting style is exactly as ugly as I thought it'd be. And the anonymous icon with a bag over its head is kind of creepy-looking. I realize I don't pay for my LJ and thus they couldn't give less of a shit if I leave, but can anyone point me to the Dreamwidth journal importer? I couldn't find it and I want to get started importing as soon as possible since I figure it'll probably be backed up.
Also does the importer bring comments with it? There's a lot of nice stuff in the comments of my journal. :(
Day off tomorrow. I should spend it shopping, cooking, beading, and wrapping presents but I mostly want to spend it writing and drawing. And napping. And listening to doom metal to rinse the endless repetition of the same 3 holiday CDs out of my head.

And yes, you can import comments.

If not - the comments pages have lost their little "reply / link / thread / expand" buttons and subject lines. There are also changes in the way you post comments, select comment userpics, and so forth. It's... really annoying, especially if you're trying to read a comment!fic comm or any such thing.
Here's the post where I first noticed the switch this morning, if you want to see the formatting changes.

But what's starting to nudge me off isn't so much the changes themselves as the attitude behind them. I mean, fandom was never LJ's primary demographic, and that's fine, but if there's going to be a site change every few months that will make fandom have to scramble and work around it, you might as well just go somewhere that's purpose-built for fandom and actually gives a damn what you think of their changes before they roll them out.
Which is not to say I'm omgleaving - I don't think I'll do that unless everyone I know decamps - but it's looking like a good idea to have other options.

THIS IS ME
I highly recommend the draw-write-doom metal version of today. :P

Yeah, that day ended up being mostly about baking. And frantically readjusting the recipe when I discovered how complicated it actually was to bake biscotti. And dashing into the grocery store five minutes before closing.
I shall have to tell/illustrate that story sometime.

My handle's the same here as it is there, but by the looks of it you have already figured that out. Ading you back!
