LJ's having yet more security problems; bugs in the newest update have caused people to accidentally be logged in to other people's accounts, with full access to their personal information and data, as well as locked and private entries. (Dig through the comments; predictably there's nothing in the main post about it.)

I'll be staying logged out until this gets fixed, to minimize both stress on the servers and possible security problems, but...yeah, it's kind of starting to look like that DW account was a good idea.

I did notice the pony party. It does lighten the subject considerably.

Really just about any discussion could use a mid-discussion pony party. Especially if it somehow involves the Orbital Friendship Beam.

It's partially related in that it's the same 'release' that's causing the problems. However, the LJlogin breaking was deliberate--they claim it was to stop spammers. They also admit they knew it was going to bork ljlogin and ljjuggler. So...it's up to the coders of those widgets to find a workaround, and until then, lol enjoy the fail!

This, though is you logging into your account only...it's not YOUR account but someone you possibly never heard of. And you can edit all their entries, and do, well, everything you do when logged into an account.

And even then, people have been complaining that there's been an uptick in spam. So it broke the widgets AND didn't do a single thing it's supposed to! Truly we're doing great work here.

Yeah, I'm suddenly really glad I had that backup account. Now if only I could wrangle the exporter so it'll take comments on my entry as well as the entry itself...
