I'd really really like to believe that my particular style involves beautiful imagery and brilliant turns of phrase, but I'm not too sure of where I stand on that count. All I can suggest is spending some time trying to imitate your favorite authors. It might not sound quite right to you at first, but keep at it and hopefully whatever it is they have will start rubbing off on you. :)

I find that your work very often does have beautiful turns of phrase and imagery, both of which I admire.

Imitation, I find, often sounds insincere, which is what I'm most worried about. Of course, I suppose I don't have to show absolutely every single one of my efforts to everyone, but...hm. Worth a shot.

You are a wonderful, wonderful person.

I think you're an advanced enough writer that you can competently imitate someone else and not have it sound terrible. I can tell from your fic snips that you do know how to use the language, I'm sure it'll sound fine.
