I shouldn't even be online right now.
I've got an exam coming up in exactly 12 hours, which I probably didn't study enough for and should be prepping for as we speak. But frankly, my attention span's completely shot by this point. I honestly don't think more reviewing will do me an ounce of good.
So instead, for my first journal, I'm going to put up a basic introduction, since I'm well aware that my bio page is utterly useless in that regard.
I don't use my real name here, and if you know me in real life, I would like for you to refrain from using it as well. You can call me just about anything you like - Muppet, s-m, Mrs. Sparky (XD), Lotus, PL, whatever. Be creative.
I'm currently a college student trying to figure out how to have a social life, which I'm not very good at.
I've been writing since kindergarten, and if the world were a perfect place I'd be an author when I grow up. I always have multiple projects that I work on on an on-and-off basis; currently, that list includes two fantasy stories (one of which I'm writing in comic-book form) and a screenplay. I may post bits of them on occasion, or put them up for review, but don't expect to see too much of them, because I'm also a paranoid copyright freak.
I also write fanfic, which will show up here quite often. I used to be a die-hard fantasy writer; my taste now runs much more to crime dramas, with the occasional video game or film thrown in there. Primarily I write het, but I've been known to slash, femmeslash, and gen when the mood strikes. Mostly I write in-canon one-shots, but I have a few series going at the moment. Almost everything here will, at some point, go up on my fanfiction.net page, which you can get to by clicking that pretty little link in the sidebar. I welcome all commentary, criticism, and grammatical nitpicking to my work (how else will I get any better?), so poke away.
I love to draw as well, although I'm not very good and have no interest in pursuing it professionally. I draw cartoon-style, although I'm trying to teach myself to draw more realistically. Most of my art will be on my DeviantArt page if you really want to see it, but some stuff (things I'm really proud of, rough sketches, things I don't want all of DA to see, or what I like to kindly refer to as "fancrack") will be on display here.
I love movies, books, and video games. I'm not picky as to genre - my list of "favorite movies" runs the gamut from Kill Bill to Beauty and the Beast toShameless Mancandy Pirates of the Carribean - anything that tells an engaging story and doesn't make me feel like I've wasted valuable time is good with me. Same goes for video games and books, too, although I generally prefer it when a game has some sort of coherent story.
I've started watching way more TV now that I've left for college. My favorite shows at the moment are Monk, House, Doctor Who, CSI (entire franchise, though Miami has a visegrip on my attention at the moment), and Law & Order (entire franchise). I'm starting to explore The Closer, Criminal Minds, and Without a Trace as well. As you may have gathered, I'm a fan of crime dramas, though that's by no means all I watch.
I still watch cartoons and I'm damn proud of it. :) The Disney movies of my youth still rank among my favorites, the Muppets own my soul, and there are quite a few TV cartoons that I'm mildly obsessed with. Won't name them here though - those are for you to figure out. I'm sure I'll let them slip eventually...
I'm prone to contemplation, rants, rambles, and pointless introspection. Expect many an entry contemplating art, thought, decisions, life, the universe, and the pointless petty dramalessness that is my life. Mostly the latter, because I'm a teenager and that's how I roll.
Oh, and I'll try not to name names, but if you suspect that I'm talking about you in one of my journals, please don't be offended. I'll try not to say anything bad...about people I know, anyway. XD
Mostly, I'm just here, like all the rest of us. Here to talk, here to fan-spazz, here to think aloud, here to reconnect with friends and maybe make a few new ones. Talk to me. Chances are good that I'll talk back.
I should go to bed now.

Anyway. Shameless Mancandy 2 is out on DVD, did you see? And I'm procrastinating like whoa. And I'm thinking of getting a livejournal. Again. How do you like it?
(no subject)
Yes, Mommy pre-ordered Shameless Mancandy 2 from Amazon...so it's waiting for me when I come home. *giggles fangirlishly*
I'm actually really liking lj so far - it's more of a blog than DA and Facebook, but it's not as creepy as MySpace (definetly a good thing). And making icons is way more fun than it has any right to be.
(no subject)
P.S. I can't see your icon. :(

That's odd. It's just a regular JPEG; it should show up fine. Are you getting the Red X Of Death?
(no subject)
No, I wasn't getting the red X of death, just the blue-encased question mark of doom. It works fine on Firefox, though, so I guess it's a Safari-related problem.
(no subject)
*hugs back* Good to hear that it's working. It shows up fine for me, but then, I'm using plain old Internet Explorer...

Is my bad little boy still behaving himself for you?

I will friend you now.

Friending back...
