So I finally cracked and looked up spoilers for EP8 of Umineko, because I could not stand not knowing anymore.

And. Well.

I do believe these two macros best sum up my feelings:

With just a dash of

It is a very strange feeling, being depressed and angry at the same time. Though I suspect once the Witch Hunter translation of EP8 goes up and I have these spoilers in actual context, the anger will subside somewhat, but what the shit, Ryukishi, it was bad enough when Chris Nolan pulled that "Or maybe it was all a dream!" business, don't you fucking start. Yes I know it makes sense within the heavily metafictive story that all of the difficult-to-explain magic elements have been just one big heavily metaphorical story all along, but...just...it's like that damn spinning top ALL OVER AGAIN.

...shouting is the only way I can keep from crying, okay. :(

I need AU fic. A lot. And to stop listening to the ending music because it's making me cry harder.

This post was partly an excuse to post that macro, really.

*does not read spoilers* WELL NOW YOU ARE MAKING ME PARANOID. I still haven't finished 7, partly because its beginning gave me ominous feelings, and this is not helping D: If I pretend it all ended with 6 will that make it better? I am very much preparing to pretend it all ended with 6.

Depending how EP8 actually goes with the spoilers in context, that may be what I do too. It's funny, because some of the spoilers are actually a bit satisfying and answer a lot (though not all) of the questions that have come up. And then there are ominous ones.

But then, this is Umineko. If something's unsatisfying we can just pretend it was Bern trolling the audience and move on.

***********hugs************

I'm hoping that the Witch Hunter translation will find a way to satisfy somehow. I mean, I though EP7 sounded terrible when I read the spoilers and then I really enjoyed playing through it. So. Um. Yeah.

I hope so too; there are some of the spoilers that actually make a lot of sense once I wrapped my head around them, but...well, then there are the others.

I just want the translation to be out right now so I can read it and stop not knowing, it's driving me crazy!

This entry was partly about posting that macro, I have to admit. It makes me laugh every time.

Also hey you should watch/play Umineko! I don't know how you feel about anime and Visual Novels, but it's a really intriguing story. The easiest way to describe it is a metafictive magical-realist murder mystery/love story, and it's got some of the most gorgeous music. [personal profile] biichan has a great intro post here (http://biichan.livejournal.com/694921.html) if you'd like to know more...

To be honest? No, I would not like to know. Not because I doubt it's good and interesting, but because I cannot afford to fall for another fandom. Granted, I only have 3 1/2 in the first place, but for me that's a lot. So, tempted though I am (especially by mention of mystery with good music), I dare not click the link.

I am glad that you enjoy it, though! :D
