I just managed to have a dream that involved Inception and TFA, how about that.

There was something about how me and this other girl had to make Saito dream so we could go to Spain in his dream, and once we were there I wanted to go to the Prado but she wanted to play around with dream physics because we were floating for some reason. And there was also this samurai person who I think was guarding him but was also guarding this sword with a handle and sheath that were so bright and shiny red that it looked like chrome, plus there was no hand guard so when the sword was sheathed it looked just like a curved beam of red chrome. And I think...I think the samurai had to give it to whoever he was involved with at the time, and someone used it to either defeat him in combat or do something wrong, so he had to commit sepukku with a black sword that looked exactly the same save for the color.

And then it rapidly switched to TFA, where it was some sort of series finale, with long CGI views of Cybertron. And some big disaster had just happened, and there was a voiceover of a conversation from the end of Beast Machines between Cheetor and Botanica about the "heart of Cybertron" and how that was the real key to reformatting the world, or something. Except, obviously, no such conversation ever took place in the actual series, and Cheetor sounded like Optimus Primal for some reason, and I've never even heard Botanica's voice so I have no idea where hers came from. And then the planet split off into four different parts, a central torus and three satellites along a perpendicular axis with the torus, both spherical and wedge-shaped, that hovered outside the torus, and that was apparently the shape it was meant to be from the beginning. Oh, and this all had something to do with the samurai, like they had to complete the planetary transformation before the samurai finished killing himself or something.

And the whole time TFA!Bumblebee was looking after Sari because...idk, she might have been dead or something. But the planetary transformation was like a giant reset button for Earth, and when she woke up she didn't recognize or remember Bumblebee. So instead he took an altmode as a yellow iPod so he could be with her all the time and yammer in her ear about all their adventures. And despite not remembering him Sari didn't seem to think this was weird at all.

And then I went over to TFWiki to look up the episode and I found out that everyone hated it because they thought it was a big pile of fanwank and especially hated that Sari had effectively gotten her memory wiped. Parallels to Journey's End are unsettling.

You know, that was one of the minor quibbles I had with Inception; the dreams were way too normal until the gravity started going wrong. I get that they were supposed to be purposefully constructed, and there was some manipulation of impossible physics and illusion, and I think overall Nolan did a fairly good job of making them a bit surreal and establishing why they weren't more so, but overall most of them just seemed to make way too much sense for a dream. I kind of wanted to see, I don't know, a line of can-can-dancing hippos in the middle of the highway chase or something.
