*quick thumbs-up*
Surgery went great; I could get out of bed and walk with assistance about a half-hour after they wheeled me into my room and could keep food down after only a day. Much less pain than last time.
Didn't let me keep the bolt, though; apparently anything taken out of a human body has to go to Pathology to make sure it's not infected, plus they don't like giving hardware back to patients in case said patient uses it for a malpractice lawsuit. But I might get it back after my follow-up appointment.
Can only stay on for a little bit; I promised my folks I'd only send out one resume and then I'd get off so I wouldn't get a headache. Just wanted to check in.

Also think there is some measure of irony in the post on my friends page right below yours being from GraphJam, "Why My Back Hurts"

Hah, if only it were as simple as "I'm sleeping on a tiny sliver of the bed" and not "My spine is borked". >__>
