And by the looks of things I am about to have another one, despite pages and pages of flist I desire to comment on. Having Things To Do In Real Life: I'm still not used to it.

(But I do have my resume finished at last. That at least is a point in my favor.)

Will see if I can post about it tonight, but for now, a meme nicked from [livejournal.com profile] laurus_nobilis  and a continuation of the "id-fic" trend that I really must meta about at some point:

Check my fandoms, my favorite characters, the pairings I like the most, my kinks, my fictional crushes, anything. Now, in a friendly and possibly teasing way, point out the obvious and not so obvious trends or fetishes you see in my tastes. Maybe I'm nuts for all vampire stories, or have a thing for men who smoke, or I'm fond for the tsundere archetype, or I'm into rival slash. Let's point out all of those you've noticed I tend to squee about during our friendship.

Also feel free to steal this one; I'd like to see more people do it. :D

Busy, busy, busy! I have lunch I must make and baked goods to be evacuated from the oven, so I must run.

I would love to read your meta about the id-fic trend.

Is it appropriate to steal this meme without giving you much if any feedback on it? I really haven't read enough of your fic to notice anything beyond incurable shippiness and a tendency towards the bittersweet. (I'm gen-only in my reading as well as my writing. Though I do notice that you write femslash rather than manslash, which seems unusual to me but I can't really draw any conclusions from it.)

It's not even so much a trend of writing id-fic (though there have been a lot of ficathons focusing on idfic and writing cliche-fic in new ways, so there's that) as there is meta regarding id-fic, and that intrigues me - are we more openly embracing id-driven fic and examining it more closely as a result, much as people are starting to examine the idea of the Mary Sue and whether the widespread reaction to them is justified. I'd like to see what's that about.

And I know it took me ages and ages to get back to you, but I don't mind you using it without answering it. I know I don't write as much gen as I used to, for which I apologize - I have been trying to write more gen, but I end up writing a lot of shipfic for requests and ficathons, and a lot of write I write consists of ficathons. I do find it easier to write women in romantic situations than men, hence the prevalence for femslash, but I don't know if that means anything.
