I was thinking about maybe wrapping wire or thread around the head of the screw to hold it up, thus making it hang like a pendant and distributing its mass a little more evenly so it won't look so huge. I do like the leather wraparound idea, but I still want to display its shape if I do use it for a pendant. Then again, a huge bead would still be significant to me because I know what's in it with the bonus of looking slightly less weird.
