One day, after I have managed to have a productive decade or two and done something noteworthy and contributed towards the Greater Good, I will find a way to do nothing all day but play with puppies and somehow get paid for it.

Other frippery:

I can't figure out if "Brand New Key" is supposed to be an innocent, childlike, spirited song or a song about a stalker. I mean, tonally it's the former, no question, but the references to repeatedly biking and driving by someone's house? "Sometimes I think that you're avoiding me"? They're not a very threatening stalker, maybe, but I still get the sense of the singer hanging around someone's house all day waiting for them to emerge. Maybe that's not as weird from a kid wondering where their friend is? I dunno. That might be my overdeveloped sense of paranoia talking.

On a similar note, I have a really rubbish music library when it comes to making fanmixes. Half the stuff I've got is either instrumental or in a language I don't understand. Sometime last night I arrived at the conclusion that, screw it, I was just going to make an all-instrumental fanmix and the hell with this "choosing appropriate lyrics" tosh, but even that didn't go so great because most of my instrumental music is in entirely the wrong mood for the mix I had in mind. Blah.

RL stuff and replying to comments to come (and maybe fanmix-related Thinking Out Loud as well) maybe later when I am feeling less shiftless.
Music:: "Brand New Key" - Suzanne Sherman Propp

Dog breeding! The happy, ethical kind, not the shady, profiteering kind.

Yes, but then I would have to give them away! Although I suppose that means I don't have to actually raise them, and I could make sure they were being sold to happy families that would love them, but, still.

Also there are the Serious Business matter that there are so many dogs and cats in shelters or homeless that I would feel bad bringing more into the world who might get abandoned or abused, but that makes it sound like I begrudge legitimate breeders and I really don't.

You could foster, then. You'd still have to give them away eventually, but they would be abandoned puppies and kittens, not bred ones.

Although you definitely wouldn't get paid. :/

This I think I could do! And it'd give me the chance to care for lots and lots of puppies, too.

Hopefully the whole "productive decade or two" thing would take care of the monetary concerns by that point.

Haha, that is me exactly. "Oooh, puppies~! Look at the puppies! What, you mean you actually want me to take responsibility for another being? RUN AWAY."

Heh, whenever I try to make a fanmix, I just keep coming up with like... one or two really appropriate songs and I want to share how appropriate they are, but I don't have enough for a full FST. I just don't listen to vocal music all that much.

I suppose this is why I like making fanvids when I have time.

That is exactly what's happening to me! I have about four sets of two or three songs that would be perfect for one character or one pairing or something, but two or three songs do not a fanmix make, and everything else in my music library just doesn't work.

One of these days I really must learn how to vid.
