(And also dammit someone watch TFA with meeeeee. I treated myself to the first season finale last night after work and I need to let my squee out somewhere or I'll explode.)

I think it might be the best one I've ever seen on there. Really. The style just sounds so right.

I know, but...squee for me is so much more fun when there's a whole bunch of people doing it too. Otherwise I feel like I'm just bouncing around making a fool of myself for no reason, rather than bouncing around makeing a fool of myself with a lot of other people who know me and have forgiven me and will go "OH YEAH HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME" with me so I'm not the only one doing it.

Yeah, I know, like I wasn't a big enough dork already. But it's fun and nicely voice-acted, and the LJ fandom is kind of inactive but the fandom outside of LJ is large and old and scary.

Can't promise to run through the whole season at as fast a pace... given the other shows I'm in the middle of watching. But being in a small-ass fandom can be frustrating, so I can relate.

I'm so spoiled by Who fandom, I really am. It's so shocking when the fandom's main fic comm isn't updated every twenty minutes and there isn't at least one fic for every pairing outthere, no matter how cracky.

Who fandom is insanely open and varied compared to most others, I agree.

Though it's not so much the lack of support for non-mainstream pairings that frustrates me, but the lack of support for personal canons and interpretations of the series that veer far away from the creator's intent. Every time I hear an elitist "But that's not what the Almighty Creator intended RAWR" comment, I have the strong urge to throw my boots through the monitor and hope they knock someone unconscious. Argh.

It's odd; from what I've seen the TF fandom varies to enthusiastic, gleeful crack (though even the crack tends to stay within a few pairings) to "oh Primus not this pairing again" run-of-the-mill fannishness to the old boards which (I'm told) are exactly as wanky and "THAT'S NOT CANON RAWR" as you describe. And continuity in TF is so insane that the idea of "personal canon" seems to fly pretty well, it's just then you get people explaining repeatedly and at length why X isn't part of their personal canon and shouldn't be part of ANYONE'S EVER.

It's like a big fandom and a little fandom at the same time, and the little part's the one I'm in. It's weird.

Heh, it was mainly Tenchi Muyo fandom I had in mind when I was complaining about that. It's a rather large multi-verse, but the original OAV series has a group of batshit elitists that make me want to bang my head against the wall sometimes.

I haven't see that kind of stuffiness in Shadow Raiders fandom. But that might be because SR fandom is so small that people are just happy to see other fans period, and could care less what their ships and interpretations are. Thankfully.

It's like a big fandom and a little fandom at the same time, and the little part's the one I'm in. It's weird.

Good call, from the sounds of it. Well, I think I'll watch the TFA pilot sometime this weekend then. Since I can't seem to stomach watching the "End of Time" right now. :P

I spent a tiny bit of time in the Tenchi Muyo fandom when I was wee, and even within the single 'verse I played in (I can't remember which one it was) people got really scary about shipping and interpretations and what was and wasn't canon. Maybe since there's more romance in the canon people get more serious-business about it?

Oh, oh, oh, I watched the first episode of Shadow Raiders before I left for vacation, and omg you're right. I adore it so far. I haven't met Jade yet, but I really like Graveheart and Tekla, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of it once I get back (since there's dial-up here). Thank you for telling me where to find it!

Possible. Thankfully, I'm not the slightest bit interested in Tenchi pairings, so I've managed to steer clear of it. Obscure Washu pairings are the way go! Yes.

Aww, Graveheart, bless him and all his adorkable gentle giant tendencies. And Tekla deals with her "Last of Her Kind" baggage far better than other characters I could name. She should give Ten lessons. :P

I think I'll shall watch that TFA pilot before the weekend's over, because now I feel I owe you. XD

This is always the answer. :D

That was what I really liked about Graveheart - when we first saw him, he was demonstrating concern for his men's well-being and putting them before the raid - but he was still conducting a raid and still a competent fighter. And the scene where Tekla says goodbye to her father was so understated but still so sad. :( I like this handling of "last of their kind" angst much better, though; it certainly takes up less time.

The YouTube channel that uploads it is a little wodgy today (but then, I've been having issues playing anything, so it may just be my internet having a moody day), so I haven't been able to watch any more, but I am so excited for Jade!

omg omg omg the two-part finale made me so ridiculously happy I can't even. And the whole sequence of Megatron reassembling himself at the end of part 1 was so freaking gorgeous I rewound and watched it again. And I love "Nature Calls" because Bumblebee acts exactly like I do when I'm forced to go on a camping trip, and I love how Ratchet is all grouchy and mean at Sari until she gets in trouble whereupon he's all "oh my god I didn't mean to yell at you I'm sorry please don't die", and I also love how Bulkhead just loses it every time Sari's in trouble and how he's an artistic soul deep down, and I love Blitzwing and his crazy face, and I love how Prime's engine revs when he's angry and I love what a hippie Prowl is and and and.

I just adore all the characters, heroes and villains, and it's been a while since I was this excited about a series and its characters. And then I watched "The Elite Guard" and I was excited all over again because Ja~zz. ♥
