I mean, I've already signed up for the [livejournal.com profile] dw_femslashficathon in a moment of madness, that's more than enough.

Anyway, I'm at home for fall break, and as such will probably be away from the computer until Wednesday, given that part of the point of fall break is to spend time in the Real World and all. So, naturally, here is a meme so I can fall even further behind on comments.

I'm sorry! I did have those two essays to do, in my defense. Once I get back from school I should have slightly fewer obligations by way of, you know, schoolwork and passing my classes and things.

*gazes longingly at Kirk/Chekov* Surely Mom will understand if I take a moment or two to reply to conversations and such...

I know, dearie, that's why I waited until you were on break to ask. :P

I'm lol'ing right now because the excerpt I want to post is a mental tangent that has nothing to do with Chekov at all, although it (in context) takes place while Kirk is lying on top of him.

But! The tangent is all about Kirk and Pike and is Relevant to our recent discussions. ^^

Deeeerp, I mean once I get back *to* school, since while I was at home I was doing stuff with my family and generally not being around a computer much. But I'm back now, so hopefully I should be able to catch up on things.

Kirk and Pike are always relevant, even if they are part of a mental tangent in a completely different fic. :) I've got class until about 5 today, so I very much look forward to reading your tantalizing excerpts once I get back.

Much though I complain about ficathons I was really excited to sign up! It looks like a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing the awesome fics that'll come out of it.

I have to admit I did freak out a tiny bit because (blocked out to avoid giving anything away)I don't know how to write any of the suggested pairings that they listed, but hey, the suggestions aren't restrictive and anyway I'll be writing someone free femslash, so long as I do a good job I will hopefully not give anyone cause to complain. Besides, what's a ficathon for if not to be a bit of a challenge?

Oh, I'm sorry - yeah, so there's a reason the three previous years I didn't have pairings at all, because it turned out that it was impossible to match on pairings, and I mainly matched on characters. Don't worry, the pairing suggestions are TOTALLY optional and as long as you use requested characters it's all good. :)

Yeah, I can imagine - even if people list compatible characters they'll want different pairings and all. But still, my recipient listed characters I can write and if I'm feeling really ambitious I could probably squeak out some of their requested pairings too.

Mostly I am just in awe that you can organize a ficathon right now. I would not be able to do that. *cheers*
