But I've had kind of a crap morning, and self-centered memes make me feel better, plus they give me a chance to rifle through all my unfinished documents, find clips of scenes I'd totally forgotten I'd written, discover that some of my old unfinished fics weren't all that bad, actually, and feel bad about never finishing anything. Pinched from [personal profile] eponymous_rose , and also stealing the format. Also like her, I encourage you to nick this meme for yourself because I'm nosy.

Post snippets of your WIPs!

Doctor Who Fic:

1. The Memory Always Lies, Chapter 3 [Three, Liz, Brigadier, Benton; gen]
(about 1000 words and an outline written)

In which Ms. Shaw puts to use that extensive scientific knowledge of hers, Benton has a moral dilemma, and an unwelcome but not unanticipated complication arises.

---

2. An Experiment, Of Sorts, Chapter 2 [Three/Liz]
(About 1500 words written and an outline)

In which hot water use and evening plans are negotiated, and Liz gets a glimpse of another world.

---

3. Nothing Up My Sleeve [Three, Jo; gen]
(only the first scene written)

In which the Doctor, Jo, and Harry Houdini investigate a disjointed - and potentially deadly - magic show, and Jo gets her fangirl on.

---

4. An Old Steve Reeves Movie (working title; cheers, [livejournal.com profile] violetisblue ) [Ten, Donna; gen]
(another first-scene-and-outline bit)

In which Ten and Donna do the Time Warp again.

---

5. Various and Sundry Kinkmeme Fic [Three/Jo, Ben/Polly, Three/Liz/Brig and permutations thereof, Jamie/Victoria, Liz/Shalka!Nine, others as strikes my fancy]
(Level of completion varies by fic)

In which a diverse assortment of characters awkwardly fumble their way towards sex, with varying degrees of success, with the occasional help of new shoes, old clothes, sudden rainstorms, curtain pulls, extreme yo-yo-ing, duplicitous conversations, serious misunderstandings, missed opportunities, and pogo sticks.*

*There are no pogo sticks. Not yet, anyway.

---

6. Untitled [Nine, Rose; gen]
(Fragmentary; mostly exists as one scene that amused me but I like the idea and don't want to forget it)

In which the Doctor and Rose find their way into the Land of Fiction, at the mercy of a sinister space-opera auteur and forced to fend off villainous overlords, high-powered war machines, and an ill-conceived romantic subplot to survive.

---

7. Untitled [Rose/Jo, Three, Ten]
(800-ish words)

In which Rose and Jo meet at an intergalactic Tube station and keep on missing each other from there.

---

8. Ashes In Our Mouths [Liz/alt!Liz]
(1000 words)

In which the walls between the worlds are weakening, and a few are caught in the flux.

---

9. Untitled [Shalka!Nine, Robot!Master, Alison Cheney; gen]
(600 words)

In which Alison crashes an expensive wine auction to prove a point.

---

10. Outside the Scope of Your Duties [alt!Liz/alt!Petra]
(500 words)

In which the most intimate of secrets are doubts.

---

11. Untitled [Brigadier/M (Judi Dench version)]
(one scene and an outline again)

In which there are interagency disputes, and an old friend asks a professional favor of another.

---

12. Kama [Three/Delgado!Master]
(200 words, er)

In which desire is the mark of selfhood.

---

13. Untitled [Three, Brigadier, sort-of Three/Brigadier maybe]
(250 words)

In which it's harder than you think to piece together who somebody really is.

---

14. Untitled [Crossover | Four/Mary Poppins]
(100 words)

In which I promised someone I'd write this because I'm an idiot.

---

Other Fandoms:

1. It Gets Us All In The End [Pirates of the Caribbean | Jack, Will | post-AWE AU]
(400 words)

In which Jack is dead, and Will wants to talk about it.

---

2. The Sixth-Date Rule, Chapter 4 [CSI: Miami | Horatio/Marisol]
(um...about 1500 words so far; not much on the recent chapter)

In which Horatio Caine is the single most physcially undemonstrative man on God's green Earth, and Marisol has had it up to here with that.

---

3. Untitled [Phantasmagoria 2 | Curtis/Trevor]
(400 words)

In which Curtis has a lot of explaining to do, and Trevor listens as best he can.

(Or, in which I promised someone I'd write this too because I'm still an idiot.)

---

4. Untitled [Final Fantasy X | Auron, Jecht, mild Auron/Jecht]
(800 words)

In which Auron waits for the end of the dream, and what's left of Jecht keeps him company.

---

5. Untitled [Original fiction (characters belong to [livejournal.com profile] viralmancer ) | Samaj/Amara]
(500 words)

In which denial is a complicated and many-layered thing.

---

6. Seeds [Original fiction | Epic Fantasy gen with background pairings, possibly, since I really don't know where it's going anymore ]
(zillions and zillions of words, most of which are in a .txt file converted from a WordPerfect Document and hence covered with odd symbols and nearly unreadable. Also, most of which are really bad.)

In which a fourteen-year-old girl, her adoptive older sister, her best friend, an amphibious fish-man, and a genie try to keep the world from unraveling.

(Or, in which ten years ago Muppet set out to write a video game and was never, ever able to let go of the idea because these characters have been with her all her life and she loves them too much. Also in which there are some really freaked-out puberty- and sexual metaphors in here, I was one odd fifth-grader.)

---

7. Untitled [Original fiction | Urban fantasy, gen]
(about 2000 words of disjointed scenes)

In which Specimen Alpha Alpha Four is very tired of living her whole life suspended in a wheel in a research compound, and decides to stage a little breakout.

---

8. Long Live The King [Original fiction | Gen]
(2000-ish words)

In which a female Elvis impersonator and a hitchhiking bassist go on a metaphorical Grail quest.

---

And that is way, way too many WIPs. It is sort of disappointing how much I start writing and never get around to finishing, but at least this lets me keep tally.

Time to do some reading and act like a real student. Ta.

Yay for including an original fic in your list!

Seconding this!

I'm really looking forward to, um, every single one of the Doctor Who fics (and that's only because I don't know the other fandoms, beyond Horatio Caine's sunglasses). The Nine&Rose genfic sounds awesome, and I'm always in favour of more Three!era fic. :D

Erm, it isn't actually my original fic; it's fic written in [livejournal.com profile] viralmancer's original fic 'verse, so it's still technically fic. But yours and [livejournal.com profile] happydalek's comments inspired me to dredge around in the *really* old stuff (including the old epic-fantasy thinger that I've had kicking around in my brain since I was eleven) and post snippets of that, so that's there if you really want to see it.

beyond Horatio Caine's sunglasses

I was just getting into TV fandoms, okay? I didn't know any better. :( *looks sheepish*

I'll just fess up and admit that the Nine&Rose fic is my own way of taking potshots at the Star Wars prequels, which were rerunning on TV while I was writing it and thus awakened fresh ire. But at least I did something productive with it, yes?

Those are awesome additions! "Long Live the King" in particular sounds amazing. Your eleven-year-old self's epic fantasy sounds much more interesting than the stuff my eleven-year-old self came up with, too.

Also, I have a ridiculously strong and all-encompassing love for procedurals of any kind. I've never read any sort of CSI fic, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be tempted. ;)

Writing awesome fic is the very best thing to do with ire!

My eleven-year-old self had played way too much Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross, was the problem. Play too many video games where every character (out of twenty) has a subplot all their own and it starts to get to you. ;)

*nudges you to [livejournal.com profile] kindkit's and [livejournal.com profile] rainbowstevie's fic*

Er...that actually isn't my original fiction; it's [livejournal.com profile] viralmancer's 'verse, which I promised her I'd write for ages ago. But your comment did spur me to go back through my really, really, really old files and find some of my abandoned original stories, so they're up there too should you want to see them.

They all sound interesting, but I really like sound of the Land of Fiction one. And Brigadier/M! And the world needs more Shalkaverse fic too.

Someone requested Brigadier/M ages ago on one of [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis's porn battles, and while I don't think I could write that because M is one of those characters who I can't imagine having sex with anyone the idea of pairing them off intrigued me, and I figured it'd be easier to hint at a past relationship than anything else. Now I just have to figure out if I want to use Daniel Craig's M or Pierce Brosnan's M and how that figures with continuity...
