Oh man. Do I even have 15 favorite ships? I don’t know. I suppose I’ll just pick the ships I write the most, but considering the paltry amount of fic I write the number of ships I’ve written is, like, two. I’m doing fandom so terribly wrong. You know what, I’ll just pick fifteen ships I’m into or have been into in the recent past.

The thing is, for a lot of my fandoms I really don’t ship, and a lot of the ships, so I can’t pick anything from a lot of shows, books, and movies that I love (Monk is still possibly my favorite television show ever, but I don’t ship anybody on it). Limits my options somewhat.

Unrelated: Would it be terribly bad of me to write fic based on a game I haven't played? I promise I'll watch playthroughs and read guides and stuff. And it'll be a crossover where I know one of the canons already.

I am so very behind in the world of gaming. I kind of miss it.

Hmm, I can attest to a vague link between the Who ones. Jo and Jamie both have a lot of love for the Doctor and definitely believe in his greater abilities than their own, but in their own ways still make sure he knows his place when he gets too ridiculous. And the Brig has that respect/discipline thing, too, in different amounts.

I don't know all the fandoms, but for the ones I know there seems to be a lot of "close relationship despite difference in age/rank" which leads to a lot of snarky love.

Wouldn't've pegged you for a HH/Pellew shipper, I admit...

*ponders* Well, Three/Jo, Two/Jamie, Horatio/Ryan and Gibbs/Abby have this sort of teacher/pupil vibe to them, even if in some cases the pupil shows that he/she has no trouble calling the teacher on their shit (well, Ryan might have some trouble on that account, since Horatio generally doesn't have much for him to point at). Three/Liz is a different matter, since Liz, albeit also obviously learning from the Doctor during the sort time she's working for UNIT, is more of an equal than an assistant. Add the Brigadier to the mix, and you have some extra snark.

Now, Horatio/Yelina is the other pairing I'm familiar with (I only know Kirk and McCoy from TOS, so I'm not pronouncing myself on their movieverse equivalent) and I find it a bit more difficult to connect. We could possibly put them in the "relationship of equals" category where I've fit Three and Liz.
